Per stockopedia

forecasts are $59.2 mill net profitb this year and $67.4 net profit next year. eps forecsts for boith years have dropped from prior peaks

2026 had original estimates of .416$ eps originally and over time thats now dropped to .365$

for 2025 peeak estimate was .365$ epstahts now dropped to .319$

looks like profit forecasts for both years have dropped by $3 mill in the last 30 days

note stockopdia numbers may or may not be reliable - they are normally fairly on the ball though most of the time - albeit if the company are issuing news shares over time then eps numbers may need revising ?

[1] I can't find forecasts for FY 2025 specifically. I can only find for the FY 2027 5-year plan. Which is both good and bad. Bad as there should be FY 2025 specific forecasts. Good as they are totally on track to achieve the FY 2027 guidance of 1.2 billion revenue in the 9-10% profit margin corridor. I'm hoping that they are going to go somewhat over the 1.2 billion and are being quite conservative about this.

[2] When watching the H1 2025 presentation, Nat and JB discuss the "Trump effect". Nat has a little chuckle and says something like being sure Volex will benefit... I will have a check for the exact timing they discuss this.

Paul Scott mentions vlx here. Says that broker forecasts have been downgraded a bit recently so inline isn’t perhaps as good as we’d hope.

A possible negative for the share price (although not for the company's trading prospects) is the apparent absence of a lock-in clause so the new shares could soon be sold to raise cash for the recipients. Otherwise it is good to see that the progress in the acquisition is at least well up to expectations.

Agreed it's positive news for sure, though not sure it's enough to stop the short term decline. Last year we got an update early April, so assuming similar this year means no news for nearly 3 months.

Agreed, but what it does tell us is that a level of (financial) momentum has been continued/exceeded and there is little doubt UK auditors would have checked out the figures. I always find this reassuring with foreign acquisitions, although there was a good history. Market appears not interested & I guess that will remain until we get a y/end trading update.

Off highway division represents just under 20% of overall group revenue so a positive sign if it's outperforming, although depends of course how challenging the targets were and whether they are in line now with market expectations.

Turkey acquisition - deferred consideration - 50% extra shares (approx $10) + $10m cash for exceeding EBITDA contract terms - looks encouraging :-)

They are shorting based on chart momentum. I'm not a trader or someone who bases my investments on what the chart is doing. I invest into undervalued business with tail winds. With a long-term view..

This goes where Rothschild wants it. I keep telling you when he's short. It's a game for nat. One of many he plays DAILY... I hope you Morons made money betting on Trump to win the lElection...You think it's a coincidence that Trump swept the board after nat endorsing him months ago.The moment I saw him advocating for Trump on X, I placed my winning bets... It was never in doubt. You think Trump is in charge? He's in Nats pocket.

Last time we saw these sorts of levels back early last year there was a rally of around 40 percent up to the high 300s. So I reckon a positive trading update should do the trick but will be waiting till next year for that.

Looking at some of those stocks, like CBOX and OTB. VLX out classes them surely. The solution to market malaise is to get stuck in and buy more of quality stocks like VLX. Not the US indexes or crypto. Also, can't keep waiting to buy.Or sell.Need to buy! Otherwise, we're part of the market malaise. This cruised up to 370p this year.VLX is a quality company. Buy more now for hopefully a quality 2025...

Economic malaise.

Good way to put it ymaheru.

Economic malaise in broken markets.

That certainly is a drag on top of our market dynamics. It seems to be getting worse, with some of the negative moves out there. The indices are looking shaky and the US is naturally going to whoop our behinds when they correct. It looks like they have started.

I went through the watchlist last night and I am watching 115 shares, not tiddler speculative high risk gunk, proper companies - smaller caps. And of those 115, I can count about eleven which are in a bullish trend or look tolerable:

OTB,ECEL,CBOX,AA4,KIE,COST,SAA,NEXN,FIN,RFX,SRC

The rest are just beaten down, doing nothing - little moves here and there. There are some which have had a bullish trend but now seem to be rolling over. But basically, it paints the picture.

Considering the boom in speculative assets like crypto, I can't recall it being as bad as this. Our markets are knackered and need change.

Maybe we look back and go....those were amazing buying opportunities but it just feels infectiously gloomy doesn't it?

But yeah, VLX was a good example of how it is right now.

Blooming hek...doom and gloom.

Let's hope we can find some good out there.

Anywho, rambling on too much now.

Ourra here!

All imo

I think the ‘results v TTG bid’ discussion isn’t the whole story in explaining the share price.

Shaker’s concerns above also come into it. Manufacturing shares have been hit. Judges is down 16% in the same time VLX is off 19%. So, I think the general economic malaise may be biggest factor, then perhaps that results were nothing special. Although TTG dragged VLX down at the time, I’m thinking that’s no longer a significant factor.

Seems a steal at sub 280 but out of favour. Watching before adding while markets on fear mode again.

I agree that "the market" was "punishing" just the idea of the take over.I took more. People happy to buy as it rose quickly to 370p not too long ago. But slow to buy now it's at a nice discount. For a while, it really hugged 317p. It would go up, then always back to 317p. 15% increase back to there is coming IMO.

I can't say I'm unhappy the TTG deal has fallen through, the last thing I have wanted is to overpay. However, I don't understand your complaint that TTG is a badly managed company, and so, by implication shouldn't have been bid for. Surely that would be one reason to bid? Take it over and run it better to reap the rewards.

As the man once said buy when others are fearful. Just topped a small amount. This was a very good share pre TT and still is. Bargain.
