21/5/2024 09:11 | That was my point, certain not a negative | johndoe23
21/5/2024 08:03 | I saw the 'comparison' with XPP as a positive, not a stick with which to beat VLX. | blusteradjuster
21/5/2024 07:43 | The LSE is indeed moribund and has been for years. Too much fixation on short-term dividends in the UK market at the expense of a real understanding of the company's long-term growth position that you get in the US. However VLX has not experienced the sort of problems that XPP has had recently, and also has the no small matter of Nat Rothschild significant holding. | valhamos
21/5/2024 07:28 | Retesting the breakout too so I bought back this morning | donald pond
21/5/2024 07:22 | Lots of LSE-listed companies being taken out recently - part of a general impression that the LSE is moribund with valuations to match. I guess the 'read-across' is that VLX might be a target for a bid. | blusteradjuster
21/5/2024 07:17 | Sorry, but I don't see the connection between VLX and XPP? | valhamos
21/5/2024 07:14 | Would have thought would have been up today with the events at XP... | johndoe23
21/5/2024 07:13 | @NatRothschild1 Bid for XP Power is obviously likely to ignite the debate re London valuations, de-equitization of the market. #LSE #UKNewsToday | aishah
21/5/2024 06:49 | XPP has had a litany of banana skins that have both destroyed and held back the share price. The share price is distressed, but probably worth the offer price. Just shows imperfections in market prices. red | redartbmud
21/5/2024 06:38 | XPP takeover offer at a very big premium. Makes these look very cheap now | igoe104
20/5/2024 14:44 | At 14:30 the US market opened. It has been like this for a while. Not every day but most days it performs well in the US market hours. It is possible that it is now included in some international basket of stocks that tracks a theme like Datacentres, Clean Energy or EV. Amphenol having a good day today as well. | ijamlon
20/5/2024 14:19 | Shareprice breakout through 350p :-)) | eagle eye
20/5/2024 14:07 | Something happened at 1430 | johndoe23
16/5/2024 17:57 | Surely demand is increasing hence rise in copper. Should be beneficial here. | aishah
16/5/2024 17:39 | Agreed. I understood Volex had either automatic pass-through or quarterly re-set on copper prices, so they do not have any exposure albeit there is a slight time lag issue on quarterly resets. | valhamos
16/5/2024 17:28 | It probably won’t be far off all contracts. I’m involved in a business where, unless markup is amazing (rare), we contract volatile-prices metals. However, demand could fall. Even that is unlikely to be too much, as customers will still need medical equipment and EV’s etc. Volex have been increasing margins even as prices have been rising. So, its a concern, but Volex seem on top of it. | ymaheru
16/5/2024 16:25 | Not sure about this surge in the copper price. I know Volex have a lot of contracts with automatic pass through of costs, but it won't be all contracts. And at some point it will start to affect end demand. | ijamlon
15/5/2024 07:05 | Next target 387 | ijamlon
14/5/2024 13:11 | Nice recovery though!! | johndoe23
14/5/2024 09:36 | Yes 30% rise but that brings profit takers | johndoe23
13/5/2024 07:36 | I recommend following the news on Amphenol, who have been mentioned as a potential buyer of Volex in the past. The share price has been on a huge run and a lot of the growth has come from their ongoing acquisition strategy in the sector. They trade on almost 40 times forward earnings, not the paltry 13 times of Volex, which is always helpful for deal making. Could be an interesting summer. DYOR as ever! | ijamlon
11/5/2024 07:23 | What a brilliant three weeks for Volex, 30% rise since 16th April. Well done to the patient long-termers. | ijamlon
10/5/2024 09:08 | Itching to breakout here. 2.5 yr highs.. | allstar4eva |
