02/2/2012 09:57 | Good morning all , next deal hopefully will come sooner than later , than we could be sub 1p by the summer. | abbey8
02/2/2012 01:02 | marab: I'm sure you're right and that you sleep well at nights. I'm a big fan as you know of this incestuous family of cos, but not making very much money atm, except in BRDY (and in that slug of LDP that I very very nearly bought blind 2 or 3 times after VIR bought in) ;-( Btw do you remember that Churchllism 'a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma'? Describes the BRDY/VIR/ZOL situation quite well, especially since it's about Russia ;-) | engelo
02/2/2012 00:49 | sweepie: don't think so. At the time they bought LDP VIR must have had a short list of other well researched opps. More relevant the message from the sale of LDP is "LDP has good prospects but we can see a significantly better use for our money right now, even cashing in below the market price". It does take a bit of time and trouble to find a vendor/s willing to sell a large position, but this must be part of the selection process. All that said the mkt just doesn't agree with our valn of VIR atm for some reason :-(( | engelo
01/2/2012 21:05 | How far away is the next deal, do you buy the story that LDP came good too quick forcing NL to lock in gains but it means that his next deal is a fair few weeks/months away? | sweepie2
01/2/2012 20:57 | gregpants - your probably right, and at least this way we can blame someone else if it goes wrong :) I don't know who is doing the selling but bless em' all for the cheap shares. I can see why people are buying the downstream stocks like LDP and BRDY, but in the long run it's surely better to hold VIR who now have oodles of cash and a growing history of great deals. | marab
01/2/2012 20:46 | lol perhaps in your case, but in my case i suspect 'far smarter' is more accurate ;-) | gregpants
01/2/2012 20:42 | gregpants - my thoughts exactly, investing made easy :) I think though that I would replace 'someone far smarter than me' with something like 'someone who gets told a lot more than PIs will ever hear'. | marab
01/2/2012 20:37 | The nice thing about being here is that I don't have to go chasing the big risers like BRDY and LDP because I already own a piece of them and someone far smarter than me can choose when to buy and sell. Good old VIR! | gregpants
01/2/2012 20:24 | steddieddie (785) and didn't Old Church St sell LDP to VIR? | engelo
01/2/2012 20:20 | steddieddie (776) On the same wavelength (ie believe we both hold both, what else matters!!) but with a small difference in that imo we're in such mysterious tactical territory that I take the investment aims of ZOL or VIR (or WSAG or BRDY) with a pinch of salt. Eg ZOL have been talking oil and gas in the FSU for six months but I wouldn't be at all surprised if their next move doesn't conform to this ;=) and VIR are talking manganese in SA and gold in Chile and their next move was LDP ;-) | engelo
01/2/2012 20:05 | steddieddie: (786) spot on! | engelo
01/2/2012 16:01 | May be BRDY , or news coming soon , time to get some share's . | abbey8
01/2/2012 15:33 | what was the cause of that spike then ? | marn2
01/2/2012 11:56 | He who hesitates, LOL. Back in with 500k@0.55, should have got them at 0.52 but hey never mind :-) | charmer1_23
01/2/2012 11:09 | So following its amazing LDP success, is Brady another feather in the cap of VIR? Surely VIR's significantly-below- | steddieddie
01/2/2012 10:04 | Very interesting holding announcement on BRDY. As I recall, ECK is an Ilyas Khan vehicle that, along with John McKeon's vehicle (Old Church St) was one of the main players in the rebirth of Crosby Asset Management, now ZOL. | steddieddie
31/1/2012 11:29 | Not all selling. Currently offering at 0.5125p online so would assume all trades at that level and above are actually buys. | steddieddie
31/1/2012 10:54 | Nice to see BRDY marked up higher, how much longer until there is news of an investment there? JV with VIR maybe? | sweepie2
31/1/2012 10:46 | Lots of selling today, getting ready to drop it again, keeping the fingers crossed that it stays down around this level for awhile so I can add up to 1.5m. Just waiting for the funds to reach my account | sweepie2
31/1/2012 07:49 | carchase - couldn't agree more, someone selling but we are all buying so the general net result is zero, and people have a chance to add at what seems a decent discount to NAV. | marab
30/1/2012 20:57 | Sweepie Its one of those situations where it does not bother an investor since they know its undervalued and is a great chance to keep adding the more it drops. | carchase
30/1/2012 20:39 | If it goes below .50p I will be very surprised and will buy some more after adding last week at .57p, anything below .60p remains a buy. | sweepie2 |
