Smithie - You keep saying stuff that you obviously know nothing about! but then cover yourself with an imo. Why not research the facts before offering advice!

"Under section 22 of the FSMA, for an activity to be a regulated activity, it must be carried on 'By way of business'."

You cant say "Buy at Xp" since it is a recommendation, advice.

If you are not licensed you are not allowed to give advice, irregardless of what your disclaimer says.

If you "alter" your wording then imo you dont risk getting fined or closed down.

wording can be
"I bt. these myself at Xp, at the price now of Zp I am still holding and hoping the share price will go higher"

and not
"the price now is Zp and you should buy"

------

If you read a website like naked traders you will see, imo, that he does not say "buy at Zp".....cause he knows he would be breaking the rules.

Smithie - Please point me to the relevant section of the FSA rules where that is made clear. The disclaimer is pretty clear in what it says, and from that my posts are effectively me talking to myself. Thanks

edit: Took the bother to look it up, pg25 of this document:

Doesn't really make sense to me, but I'd say my disclaimer is pretty clear that it is not advice and are my thoughts - pretty much the same as everyone else writes on bulletin boards, but I don't see the FSA prosecuting them.... Does say that publications such as mine are excluded though bar what is noted in article 53

if the operator of that website is reading....

be warned....

your site is not authorised by the fin. services regulator

so

you are breaking the regulations by saying "buy at 8.25p"

imo you can be
- FINED
- closed down

your disclaimer is irrelevant......a non-regulated site or author can NOT imo say "buy"

You have certainly done a lot of very useful work on this BB. I sure hope that you and all the others who have been here much longer than me finally get to see the upward momentum having already seen the reverse downward movement for reasons that are related to the past as you know only too well. However, if a company can learn from where it went wrong the lessons can be worth their weight in gold when future opportunities arise.

I just happen to think that the conjunction of the right business model in the right place at the right time is rapidly coming true for VIP.

I first brought in here at 3.99p in August almost at the bottom, but sold out 2 weeks later after a rapid rise to nearly 7p. A mistake that I have since corrected when I brought back in again in early October.

It shows how rapidly VIP can rise on any positive news and buying pressure. ATUK is a good example, but not one I was holding :o(

I'm sure that there are quite a few shrewd 'old hands' who spotted Vipera over these past few months and have quietly been buying on the dips in anticipation of very good news coming to our screens any time soon. Assuming that happens, the current tight supply of shares will push the share price northwards very rapidly.

The current scenario reminds me of what happened with ATUK just before the dam burst just a short while ago when it went from 'ATUK who?' to where we are today in that share. Here's hoping the same happens here at VIP.

Bought just over 50000 shares this morning ... top end price but having looked into I like the developing partnerships in italy, germany and middle east. Speculative but with mkt cap just above 10m I think had lots of potential.
