I see Williams Advanced Engineering are AM’s battery development partner - the circle closes! Haven’t discovered if Williams manufacture or advise on battery production.

The Williams name is all over the battery but could it be a customised version of a third party’s product?

Over to the petrol heads, or is that volt heads now?!

Isn't VRS in a very sweet spot? Yes AM is a classic marque but every vehicle manufacturer will not want to be left behind in the shift to EV - lets not forget the potential UK Dyson factor.

Aston manufacturing hub in St Athan for all their electric cars and SUVs. You would prob get the Cardiff Bay train there too. There was some sort of announcement yesterday so my best guess is NR was present. The tweet only strengthens that guess. I know a senior designer at AM, might ping him to see if he knows anything.

Please report back skyliteandy :)

An Aston boss was on the plane to China, I believe NR engaged with him. Being a car nut and Aston fan that was nailed on to happen.

I was hoping to move to an electric car if ever finances allow so more than interesting that Aston are in the game for that.

A graphene enhanced carbon fibre body would do wonders for them.... I wish.

Indeed bootie...aston martin has a desire to be a future leader in EV's per that article. To my mind, without a foot in the door to a 2D materials supplier, that ambition is meaningless ! ;) aimo.best ellis

Good link Ellis,

From that news link

Aston Martin is to make St Athan its "home of electrification" in a move that could create hundreds of jobs.

It will build its new Lagonda car at the Vale of Glamorgan site, which it describes as the world's first zero-emissions luxury vehicle.

The site will now also become home for the Lagonda brand and Rapide E - its first battery-powered vehicle - when production starts in 2019.

So, NR was so excited for Monday and was off to Cardiff after board meeting.

Was excited, loves cars, Loves Aston Martin, has met with them on the china tour?, was in Cardiff, battery powered vehicle starts production in 2019 in Wales...

Yesterday trading.

Once it started to flatline I thought an MM had picked up some stock from someone. Then good old singer sat on the offer and at some point it ticked back which is the PIs selling.

The we had the largish late reports.

So the rise imo was down to stock running short and the fact buyers are there. It could be anyone from big name knowledge, funds, to China connections.

With PIs also thrown in.

The good news is the best is yet to come and this will seem like run of the mill.

re Neill's latest tweet, my thoughts are that he is saying he was supposed to be out in California for the European Innovation Day conference but instead is in Cardiff ....ie must be something pretty important going on in Cardiff to make him change his plans....
