Cotswold - well even if that figure of £200bn is wrong by a factor of 10, yes we really could all be millionaires this time next year, even with my very modest holding (compared to many)...

Yes that's what had me too, as posted.

While I'm confident that many China deals will appear I wasn't expecting it to be spelt out so strongly.

Clearly there is a need for Peter Jay and as we know 1 in China has become 24, it may be more by now.

For anyone with doubts about their investment in Versarien. Matt Walker, during his short spell, has seen inside the business and clearly been so overwhelmed with the opportunities that he's called for backup! Says it all.

It works in that that is the formation of the bids and asks from the MMs. ADVFN S feeds pick it up a work on the change to show.

I can't get past the words - help with the "China implementation". Not "negotiations"... looks like deals are in the bag, just dealing with final negotiations...Neill just holding out for the best price.. The next 3 months are going to be so exciting!

Not all the MMs are up on level 2 yet so until that happens the price is unknown. I suspect once the rest appear it will be cheaper.

For me the key element of the RNS is the need for more relevant executive bandwidth to close the deals as time is an important factor in a fast moving industry.

The RNS endorses the deal pipeline credibility otherwise HMG would look foolish, but not as foolish as failing to deliver on a great commercial opportunity by providing half the resources needed to deliver a good deal for UK plc.

Glass half empty investors will say *show me the money* but this appointment should encourage all that progress is being made and any hold ups so far are management capacity related, hence the DIT stepping in.

AIMHO DYOR etc - I’m tempted to become a recluse for 6 months in case I get lured into trading!

The market hasn't even opened yet but ADVFN showing share price up from last night's close of 116 to 121 + 5p. How does that work? That Peter Jay story has got the engines revving for a fast start this morning. Great day in prospect - GLA

Putting that into perspective.

If when the demands for support for Neill questions were raised had been met by posts of

Oh don't worry they will probably get the Head of Policy and Governance for Outward Direct Investment at the UK Government's Department for International Trade and the
Head of Outward Direct Investment at the UK Government's Department for International Trade all agreed by Liam Fox.

Then that imo would have been one of the most outrageous obviously false ramp posts ever on ADVFN.

Yet somehow it's happened, it's completely bonkers.

If he is seconded for 12 months and is "...responsible for overseeing the Company's planned People's Republic of China expansion", then can we safely say...

"this time next year, Rodders, we'll be millionaires"

:-)

On any level this is excellent news. Don’t forget that he is here to help with implementation. Does that not indicate the deal is close? You only implement something after it has been decided. Anyway it shows we have government backing and we are going global.

It's clear to me that the UK Gov see this as a substantial number of Deals in China, not just half a dozen or so. I think once one is completed, the others will follow similar format and happen rapidly - it's the way China does things.

Neill very clear on twitter last night to shorters ie only the right deal will be signed. Which heads off dilution and/or fund raise cheap shots. Don't forget, way back the cfo came back from china describing it as a'mind blowing opportunity!' I imagine it still is, perhaps more than ever ! Aimo. Best ellis

Pcjoe: I don’t think even Neill (NB Sp - see me) is big enough to play off President Xi against POTUS, if that’s what you are implying, and I do not think it would be wise to even try. Look at the way Trump is chucking sanctions around at third parties over Iran and Turkey; we certainly do not need to get caught up in that particular crossfire. Fortunately POTUS, like most politicians except perhaps Xi, May and Fox, have not yet woken up to the strategic importance of graphene.

its funny how some people view it...we're all different.

I see it as we are practically there.

hence.

"be primarily responsible for overseeing the Company's planned People's Republic of China expansion implementation in the role of Deputy Head of International Strategy and Government Relations."

Yes - Likely clear Road map & plan (Chinese style) to introduce Bulk Nanene manufacture there - Deal still to be completed negotiation wise & then execution to follow - Re execution - I dont think the Chinese will hang about re getting things up & running - They are looking to be one step ahead of the rest on this especially the US - Great leverage for Neil to use re any US expansion given the competition between the two

"CS ,as you noted fluent mandarin, which the Chinese appreciate very much,
plus,no doubt ,he has many friends and contacts amongst them"

maybe now we'll find out if that quote about China needing £200bn-worth of graphene over the next 5 years was a mistranslation or not ;-)
