they probably have 12 to 18 months cash at the present rate of burn but then the cupboard will be bare unless replenished - is there any inkling from the company if they intend to go for cash injection and when or is it just pure speculation ?
now is not the best time to ask for "more" like Oliver Twist did - jarbie

how long will that cash last?

& how much will they have to spend if the FDA makes them do another trial?

do we know if they are going to the market for more cash - they have some cash at present - this is a key question for judgement on the share price movement in the short term - jarbie

Jarbie - first off, I'd look at how much they're likely to need to ask for to get to their next value-generating event?

They can probably cut back some programmes if need be?

VER lost out on a substantial sum as a result of the US decision - there is talk of coming to the market for more cash but at what level - the share price will drop to that level in the short term at least - very risky at present - I had a limit buy at 17.5 p which fortunately I reduced this morning to 10.5 p where the rights issue may be - who knows ?

does anyone know any more on the rights issue if any ? - jarbie

Bad day today, but If you want a way out of this mess, then but Reneuron, they are the same price, but we are expecting a big surge forward when they re-submit their IND, sometime in this Quarter.

Vernalis are going to be Pipped by Meldex (Bioprogress old name)

DBP117 - Anti-Migraine

As previously announced, BioProgress is developing a triptan drug within its Soluleaves™ and Wafertab™ technology platforms. New manufacturing techniques have been developed, taken from the development work carried out on its DBP121 smoking cessation program. The product is entering into commercial scale up during Q4 2007. It is anticipated that revenues will be generated from partnership deals early in 2008.

From new market assessments and data, BioProgress has increased its revenue expectations to reach 3% of the global $3.1billion triptan market, increased from 1-1.5%

There is a possiblitity of a take over especially by the US partner as they have no cash issues??

I would agree and wait to see what the terms of the fund raising is before making any decision on this one.

Also worth contacting the company in a week or so to see what their plans are with resubmitting it to the FDA.

No offence QAZ, but I prefer to do my own research.

Interesting that GS confirm my view that the label extension was not that significant in itself, more that the milestone payment was.

Unlikely to be much point buying before a fundraising - if then even.

VOW, sounds like you failed to sell VER this morning and are desperately trying to draw others in to give you a better (albeit still loss-making) exit price. Somethng you have done before under your other screen names as I recall.

You think it is bad today but tomorrow VER will be down even more imo.

No not really. See the brokers reaction to that. Although there will now be a fund raising and the question you need to ask yourself is do I want to be part of that?

"Following the news, Goldman Sachs put its estimates and rating for Vernalis
under review. In the broker's view, the label extension would not have proved a
significant driver for Frova sales growth. However, critically, the non-approval
means that Vernalis will not be entitled to the 40 mln usd milestone payment it
was set to receive from Endo Pharmaceuticals."

Thinking of buying some real shares for the ISA for a ASM recovery story. They still could achieve their milestone with this one in which case it would be an instant recovery.

the_doctor, forget it...VER not even worth a second look now and now even more of a gable.

AZM the place to be for Q4 2007...expecting transforming deals, etc.

Yes, thats one of the things I'd be looking to check.

From memory, I cant recall anything significant thats likely to turn the story around. However, perhaps they could get a decent deal for one of their PII candidates? I'm not sure.

Furthermore, although I've not looked into it yet, was menstrual migraine approval expected to boost Frova sales by that much?

the_doctor, better to wait. Could take years to recover.

Worth very little now and much better punts available elsewhere imo.

P.S.
They will need a fundraising after failing to get the milestone payment !

Might have a look into it later to see if the drop is overdone?

VOW (Post 450) what are you on about. I made money on CEN (exited shortly after the trial results) and OXB (exited on the deal) and have lost nothing on AZM because I have not sold. Furthermore, I can afford to play the long game.

You are as always a moron, as you obviously do not understant margin calls
yes I used marging so will lose no more than 10% of my original exposure, which as you said I have always been ready for and have a stop ready.

You on the other hand have lost consecutively on OXB, CEN and now heavily on AZM and are bitter as hell.

You have become an instant barometer for shares, Qaz sells buys etc. (Must Hurt eh?)
