In this fascinating interview CEO Sara Barrington of Verici Dx - a developer of advanced clinical diagnostics for organ transplant - kindly takes me through yesterday's transformational licensing & commercialisation agreement with life sciences giant Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Here explaining how the relationship will work, the companies' joint long term vision and importantly what synergistic services each party will bring to this hugely significant deal.

On the 5th October conf call they said that the cash runway was unchanged at "mid 2024".
How come they now are forecast to have only $100k at year end 2023??

From my post 565 3rd October -

I am also more than intrigued by Verici stating that they will be assessing the role of urine-based testing as part of their research and product development opportunities based on their clinical trial samples and data.

However, we have not been guided that Verici has a urine-based test (in development or otherwise), but I am aware of a very large company that has a urine-based transplant test in development. In any regard, there are clearly companies where Verici's clinical trial samples and data will provide a very valuable resource in terms of research and product development.
(END)

Thermo Fisher and their urine-based test in development was what I was referring to -

FEBRUARY 22, 2022
BIO-TECHNE ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT AND LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH THERMO FISHER SCIENTIFIC FOR EXOTRU® KIDNEY TRANSPLANT REJECTION ASSAY

So, one assumes Verici'c urine-based clinical trial samples could also be of interest in the development of Thermo's ExoTRU non-invasive multigene urine-based liquid biopsy assay (and not just for the pre-transplant test).

What we don't yet know is how far Thermo will take development, because they have "the sole right, but not obligation, to manufacture, distribute and sell the assay worldwide"

Apparently, Verici is now forecast to end 2023 with net cash of $0.1m. (less than a £100k), with the forecast for 2024 turnover increased to $8.6m. So in my view, it still looks like a capital raise will be required as they are burning through around $10m per annum.

Nice Jv bringing in $5m with further benefits.

For me this only has to be the start of the money rollercoaster that VRCI are going to create.

Literally they are taking the urine!

'In addition, Verici Dx has granted Thermo Fisher a non-exclusive license for access to a portion of the Company's urine samples, demonstrating the additional value in the Company's data and sample assets for research.'

They were already fully funded until mid 2024 so no placings ahoy!

GL.
