11/3/2018 21:39 | ...without the revenue growth management can do nowt. | apad
11/3/2018 21:28 | DOTD Revenue growth like this 2008-04 2010-06 2011-06 2012-06 2013-06 2014-06 2015-06 2016-06 2017-06 TTM 2 6 9 10 12 16 21 27 32 36 can be used to grow the business, keep competitors out, or increase profits. Management chooses. apad😎 | apad
11/3/2018 21:17 | janeann Lived there all my life. red | redartbmud
11/3/2018 21:16 | I refer to Post 17281 re dotd Tp 68, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went lower | toptrump1
11/3/2018 21:12 | Holder in DOTD and concerned with the constant fall in price. Can I ask what you mean by land grab stuff? | dannyt90
11/3/2018 21:04 | One last thought on DOTD, H. It's in the same position as BOO in the sense that it is growing revenue at the expense of margin. Land grab stuff. apad | apad
11/3/2018 20:58 | you must know the black country well red | janeann
11/3/2018 20:19 | OK Ta. Honest from Halesowen :-) red | redartbmud
11/3/2018 20:10 | Gosh, red. Nothing so precise - I just look at the pretty pattern and guess. I think that's more a question for Bamboo. apad😎 | apad
11/3/2018 20:04 | Acquisition, H. Net cash generated from operating activities 2,601 (2,693) Which isn't great considering the growth in customers. apad | apad
11/3/2018 20:02 | APAD At what point does the MACD show a buy? red | redartbmud
11/3/2018 19:39 | DOTD free cashflow is typically a fair bit lower than reported EPS. Why is that? Not a company I could get comfortable with. I don't really understand how they have a competitive advantage. | hydrus
11/3/2018 19:11 | 70p would be wonderful for DOTD. I'm watching the MACD for a BTFD opportunity. However, it wouldn't surprise me if it bounced back above the 200day fairly quickly. I'm happy with our previous GDPR discussion. I'm not into diversification as a principle - strikes me as a great way to achieve average results. Also, one can have a lot of stocks without diversifying. apad | apad
11/3/2018 18:53 | janeann There are positives, and negatives. Fewer stocks should lead to more concentrated research and monitoring. A much better feel for the investment. It also creates greater risk from a less diversified spread. If a sector falls out of favour, you risk a big holding falling on sentiment alone, not related to performance. I hold too many and diversification has not always been a blessing. I keep meaning to cut adrift some of my smaller holdings, in preference to constantly needing to monitor them. red | redartbmud
11/3/2018 18:37 | Thank you bamboo. All sounds pretty negative despite it looking reasonably positive in the recent statement. I start to think more and more that the narrower the portfolio one has in stocks one really knows and believes in is better than the more diversified. | janeann
11/3/2018 17:44 | I noticed DOTD mentioned on here a number of times. The dominant chart pattern is a Head and Shoulders with a tp approx. 70 and a potential turn 15-16 March 2018. Another turn predicted around 29/5/2018-1/6/2018 70 also represents historical support. | bamboo2
11/3/2018 16:28 | X.o. - no frills and cheap is a good description but it suits my needs. Cost per trade is low and electronic docs are easily accessible. I've found them to respond to emails quickly and efficiently. Sometimes can't get a quote when trying to buy some shares but not sure if it would be better anywhere else. | rp19
11/3/2018 16:12 | not had problems like that. you can link the accounts so u can access theirs from your account. so I now see 5 persopns accts when I log in. makes it very easy | janeann
11/3/2018 16:11 | But it's a headache moving it as well! I had a very bad experience moving my isa from BARCLAYS to IG took 3 months! No access to online platform etc it was a mess! | saj3
11/3/2018 16:08 | Whenever I enter my password for my kids isa it keeps locking me out! Then I have to enter it a few times after I have unlocked the account. | saj3
11/3/2018 16:06 | well apart from the odd hiccup aj bell haven't been too bad. and if they have a problem they generally revert to previous dealing screens , so all in all I am not complaining. and they do have some very nice features; saj - what problems have u had? | janeann
11/3/2018 14:38 | I can't really comment, saj, as I've only used it twice after transferring the ISAs. It is no frills and cheap. www.candidmoney.com/ apad | apad
11/3/2018 13:26 | Apad - how is the x-o account? I have my daughters JISA with AJ BELL fund them useless. Asked IG if they offered it for kids, but not at the moment. Does x-o have a mobile app? Thanks | saj3
11/3/2018 11:47 | Red I agree with both points. Bit of a pain operating two accounts I'm sure. | hydrus
11/3/2018 09:59 | jamie, from memory. I could see some negative comments about them, but mainly it was their size and I predicted that they would introduce their charging structure, which I don't like. Because I shifted straightaway I could move my holdings without charges under the TD rules. I also had a look at an IC article comparing different brokers. My account is large, so I have a single individual to contact at IG: Luke is excellent.😊 Daughters are now with X-O (Jarvis) which, although not large, has a long track record and looks conservative. apad | apad |
