19/9/2017 11:01 | How much cash are they holding and at what rate are they going through it? | goodgrief
19/9/2017 10:38 | I have given a little thought to the very good news yesterday together with seeing what BA think. Velocys are laying the foundations for a significant business and working now with the worlds best. This agenda will play out for decades to come and we have a great opportunity to be front and centre of this. Putting the first plants in the ground are essentially special cases and Velocys need to follow a plan that assures investment success. My view is things will pick up in pace thereafter - Maybe considerably so. Velocys main strategic focus is the US renewable fuels market. This will move much faster than the project/s in the UK and they will be involved in game changing strategic discussions that will drive this strategy. They appear have significant momentum and I would fully anticipate significant milestones to be met in the very near future. As far as I am aware ENVIA plant is producing excellent product for our customers. The world and our future partners will know this. Commercialisation is happening as we speak the team will be driving this at maximum pace that assures delivery and minimises risk. Velocys is as always a very good bet in my book and things will play out over the coming weeks and months. I see this as a strong buy but do your own research. | gac141
19/9/2017 10:25 | Very encouraging comments from the BA spokesperson when asked about this recent partnership. UK carrier British Airways (BA) has partnered with renewable fuels company Velocys, after an earlier waste-to-fuel initiative—nam Commenting on the new Velocys partnership, a BA spokesman told ATW this venture is more likely to succeed because Velocys is already producing waste-based biofuels in the US. “This project has the same basic claim as GreenSky, but there are a number of basic differences. Velocys has a track record of successful projects and they run a plant in the US that’s already functioning. The technology is already proven and we believe the market environment has improved since our previous experience,” the BA spokesman said. One of these changes is that the UK government has added sustainable jet fuel incentives under its Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (RTFO), which was updated Sept. 14. “The UK government and the Department for Transport will provide incentives to progress sustainable fuels. These changes in the RTFO allow aviation fuel suppliers to opt in to development fuels. That incentive provides a way into this area, which is different from where we were previously. While we are clearly at an early stage, this partnership is a significant step in this process,” the BA spokesman told ATW. Under the Velocys venture, BA will help design a series of plants that will generate fuel from household waste, such as nappies, plastic food containers and chocolate bar wrappers. The first plant will use hundreds of thousands of tonnes of household waste per year, sourced from 5 million tonnes sent to UK landfill sites each year. “The planned plant will produce enough fuel to power all British Airways’ 787 Dreamliner operated flights from London to San Jose, California and New Orleans, Louisiana for a whole year. It would be the first plant of this scale. The airline plans to supply its aircraft fleet with increasing amounts of sustainable jet fuel in the next decade,” BA said. The fuel will generate 60% fewer emissions than traditional fossil fuels, saving 60,000 tonnes of CO2 every year. “This will contribute to the airline’s commitment to reduce net emissions by 50% by 2050,” BA said. | gac141

18/9/2017 19:44 | Looks a bit like more pie in the sky, but still think this revival in share price has further to go. And who knows, maybe some actual news..? | brucie5
18/9/2017 12:29 | Re: today's RNS announcement: "The members of the partnership include: British Airways" fair enough, potential customer "which intends to fly with the jet fuel made in the plant" Now that's a bit more than just "potential". "Suez, a world leading expert in recycling and waste management" Jolly good. "Norma, an affiliate of Ervington Investments" So Roman Abramovich is still interested. "Velocys, which intends to supply its technology to the plant" I hope that doesn't mean we need to supply our money. "investment decision in 2019" That's more disappointing. Ages to wait before they even DECIDE to invest, let alone ACTUALLY invest, then build the plant, then sell fuel from it, then (eventually) break even on it. | arf dysg
18/9/2017 12:15 | gac - Don't be touchy! - You also, I am sure, thought that by now the sight of oil/gas wells flaring gas from their stacks to atmosphere round the globe would be a thing of the past. Dozens of 'small scale GTL plants producing usable road fuels or waxes with a nameplate on the Machinery saying Velocys. Whats more the machinery/plant would have been wholly owned and developed by Velocys. Furthermore it would be able to be moved on from well to well when and as requirements changed. Well both you and I must now be disappointed at loosing out on that dream and move on. Trouble is , everything we now do requires partnerships, shared involvement, long timescales and political backing with all its uncertainties. - The big rub of course is that partnerships mean sharing and that means that our share of value added drifts downwards towards acceptable industry profit margins. - The original idea of small scale GTL is lost. It needed a management with the balls to carry it through. We are where we are however with this management. In hand holding partnerships merely providers of fancy kit as part of a project that we can't or don't control. - If you want to watch YouTube look up 'I have a dream' | deutsch3
18/9/2017 11:58 | Deutsche3 instead of contributing zero to this board why don't you ring management and take out your frustration direct. Or have you perhaps done so already ? | visionon
18/9/2017 11:31 | Deutsch3 Just for you.. | gac141
18/9/2017 11:11 | I also think we will get an update on ENVIA very soon. I am sure there is some good news there as well. | gac141
18/9/2017 11:07 | Well done David and the Team...This is something I am sure they have been working on for a while; Perhaps like many other things. I think we will see news flow pick up over the next weeks and months. This tie up will gain the headlines. | gac141
18/9/2017 11:06 | Back from 'The time is now', to more 'Jam Tomorrow' - When is this management going to come out of the development stages and make something - Where is the product?. Where is the 'small scale GTL' in all of this. The plan changes day to day without any feedback for the shareholders. - Who votes for all of this? - Who is making decisions relating to the financial investments now and future? - All we seem to do is make partnerships in schemes with years of lead times (and investment) attached to political decisions and funding. - When are they going to get of their backsides, take hold of some stranded gas by the neck, and turn it into a useful product. - Or have all them days gone and are we are still in the Laboratory ( or lavatory). - More Jam tomorrow! - again. | deutsch3
15/9/2017 15:59 | Ramping ? you ? how dare they ;) just the ying to fluky's yang. happy reading ! | visionon
15/9/2017 15:35 | Thanks visionon. Not sure what I want to add as I do not want to appear like I am ramping the stock..Certainly been accused of that in the past. I certainly think the wheels are in motion and Velocys is involved- what I don't know is when.... Also if this is the case then we will get huge airplay on this! | gac141
15/9/2017 15:12 | Long awaited gov response on RTFO consultation published on the 14th. Looks like WTL will get double credits (but comments welcome as I have only just opened the doc). Which combined with gate fees should help economics of plants a bit, albeit not as generous as the best USA incentives. A big document so check the index ! It would be helpful to get a VLS statement on this. GAC will you give them a nudge ? you seem to have their attention. | visionon
15/9/2017 11:34 | Deutsch thank you for confirming that you are repitive and boring. A useful and succinct summary for anyone new to the board. | visionon
15/9/2017 11:28 | Yes Ive been watching for a while, and there seems to be some local support too. I think I might take a modest punt at this level. I havent bought in before, so either there is a great future for those shares, or we find out the idea is a bubble and it eventually bursts. | wobaguk
15/9/2017 10:05 | I hate to be repetitive and boring......but..... If so..... does anyone have a picture? - If the CEO drives a Tesla please keep it a secret ....please! | deutsch3
15/9/2017 09:11 | We're now back at the 2016 bottom, so I've decided to pick up a few. It's come all the way down from 90p, as we know. The 50ma is at 40, the 200 at 50, so I reckon we're about 30% oversold on technicals, never mind the larger story, which no one seems to understand. | brucie5
14/9/2017 22:07 | supernumerary - LOL OK...maybe a little! 😀👍 | thebigshortfella |
