12/12/2017 19:41 | Thanks fluky. I'm sure BA will be chuffed to be referred to as British Airwats in the photo caption...! I suspect VLS might not achieve the fuel for the future competition 70% GHG reduction requirements. If they do it will be very impressive from MSW as opposed to landfill gas (ENVIA). | visionon
12/12/2017 19:27 | Gac141 can you remind me why the wait is till April ? It sounds like VLS took a while to understand what was required for RINs, which is disappointing if true. Deutsche3 I think it would be cathartic for you to email Pummel and ask some searching questions. We shouldn't here be guessing the answers and it seems Camarco are either clueless on renewable fuels, have conflicts or are not receiving any encouragement from VLS (it could well be the latter). Meanwhile the Xmas share price competition is in tatters...! | visionon
12/12/2017 16:24 | This article gives an interesting point of view, including Hardgreaves' on the waste-to-fuel challenges and opportunities. hxxp://www.recycling | fluky
12/12/2017 15:08 | I appreciate your input gac - and to be honest I feel some comfort since your comments suggest that I am not alone in this. I will not make direct contact with the management since I am a bit afraid of what answer I would get. Probably more confusing? | deutsch3
12/12/2017 14:26 | Can I suggest Deutsch3 that you email David Pummell and ask him the definitive answer back on that. We are producing... if it were me I would hold off selling it and wait for the accreditation of which I am in no doubt we will achieve and can then sell for 310-320 dollars a barrel . That will be a huge cash boost. This is me but I can't speak for the business. Ask them you might get the answers you are looking for. | gac141
12/12/2017 13:24 | Is it only me that is in a fog over this? - gac .... are you saying that we are producing sale-able product but are waiting for a USA accreditation - RIN - before we can sell it? - If so what happens if the accreditation fails? What on earth is happening here - why no information flow? - sale-able or not is there product and if so what are the volumes. Why is this still a guessing game when provision of some results would/could enlighten? | deutsch3
12/12/2017 10:12 | Thank you Visionon... I am amazed that the price is what it is but as before we all agree PR is short of expectations. I am aware that the strategy is to hit the market with unexpected/big news and maybe we are close to that now. I hope that going forward the news flow and the significant milestones will generate it's own as I don't think Camarco are up to it. I am expecting a progress report on RIN accreditation soon and therefore the ability as of April to sell our highly valued produce and really hit the market and the bottom line. We are also expecting an update on new finance in a creative way and also might be interesting to hear how we are doing with BA........ I have spoken to Jim Lane at Biofuels Digest and encouraged him to get hold of Velocys and do an article on them. I can nudge of course. | gac141
11/12/2017 18:49 | This merits reading (for those interested in researching rather than just moaning) and helps to explain how Fulcrum got their bonds away - and could presumably work for VLS also depending how they fund their first plant. hxxp://www.biofuelsd | visionon
11/12/2017 15:39 | Product being produced and sold as expected, nothing to say? I wonder how much they make per barrel. | woolybanana
11/12/2017 14:44 | Very quiet on the western front? - No news of product or product sales yet? | deutsch3
05/12/2017 13:58 | Some people simply want to see them make some product and sell it at a profit. Leave giving money away to the Government! | deutsch3
05/12/2017 13:48 | Well said, AD. | fluky
05/12/2017 12:51 | gac141 (885) "Not totally relevant to Velocys" The point is that a lot of research is going on in this area, in many universities and research institutions in many countries around the world. One doesn't need to understand the chemistry to know that there are many methods being developed in making hydrocarbons and related products. This helps one see Velocys as part of a large industry, so one doesn't fool oneself that Velocys is the only organisation in the world trying this. Some people here are likely to be interested in the scientific background as it might help understand Velocys better, especially what it can and can't do and the potential difficulties and timescales. Other people interested in Velocys might like to have a broader interest and explore a little, partly for interest and partly because this could suggest related investments. | arf dysg
04/12/2017 16:27 | Much more exciting than that! ;) | gac141
04/12/2017 16:15 | As exciting as watching the spot price! :) | goodgrief
04/12/2017 15:56 | Not totally relevant to Velocys and of course only at lab level so a long time before this gets anywhere near onto the production line. Where as Velocys is producing ad selling its product and closing in on RIN accreditation.... watch this space for news over the coming weeks. ENVIA is operational 24/7 and all through Christmas and New Year.... Exciting stuff! | gac141
04/12/2017 13:21 | "The direct oxidation of methane into methanol at low temperatures has long been a holy grail. [...] accomplish the feat using a heterogeneous catalyst and cheap molecular oxygen, according to a paper published today in the journal Nature" "... researchers found that they could use molecular oxygen and carbon monoxide for the direct conversion of methane to methanol [...] The same catalyst also produces acetic acid through a different reaction scheme that does not involve methanol as an intermediate." | arf dysg
01/12/2017 10:25 | D3- No this is crucial to us..once we have the RIN's we can effectively sell products for circa $310/b. I am a firm believer this is the right strategy and the best one going forward and the higher Oil goes the better. I am hoping that we get this done in the next 8 weeks all things being equal and Christmas holidays etc... | gac141
01/12/2017 10:02 | We have gone from 'the time is now' to 'years in development' and no news of product sales. - This RINS accreditation? - does this mean we have spent all this time and money developing a product that may not sell? - More information required! - Doing business in the US is the pits!- If you have a good product they screw you around until the profit evaporates. - Big mistake setting up camp in the US. | deutsch3
30/11/2017 20:46 | RINS accreditation in a number of weeks... | gac141
30/11/2017 20:24 | GAC you keep a good diary. Thanks for this. | visionon
30/11/2017 15:16 | The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released its final Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) renewable volume obligations (RVOs) for 2018. The agency finalized a total renewable fuel volume of 19.29 billion gallons (BG), of which 4.29 BG is advanced biofuel, including 288 million gallons (MG) of cellulosic biofuel. That leaves a 15 BG requirement for conventional renewable fuels like corn ethanol, consistent with the levels envisioned by Congress in the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act. The 2018 total RFS volume finalized today represents a minor increase (10 MG) over the 2017 standards, and a modest increase (50 MG) over the 2018 volumes originally proposed by EPA in July. | gac141
23/11/2017 20:49 | It is being produced and sold. RIN accreditation is ongoing. I am hopeful that we may hear more from VLS on this point within a month or so.This will be transformational! I also expect positive news on a successful fund raise. | gac141 |
