gac141. I agree and think VLS are better focusing on FT waxes/diesel/jet fuel. this also has the potential of pulling in new investors with a sustainability angle.

Further to my post 139 which I copied from iii site.

I have done my own digging on this and my response is as follows.

Velocys have published a summary of their strategy, and it doesn’t mention drilling fluids.

I have heard that they are certainly capable of producing high-quality products suitable for that market, and it may be something for the future.

However it is my belief and understanding that they are focusing on markets where they see a more compelling case for multiple plants in the short term, namely waxes and renewable jet fuel and diesel.

This is most definitely a very exciting time for all long term holders and investors. Traders will make some money but it is my belief that the investors will make the most gains.

What do people think of the operational costs vs revenues? How attractive, or otherwise, are these in this industry?

thanks gac141. interesting slides.

2 things:

1. shows how reliant on RINs etc so plant funders need to have confidence that Govs won't row back on these. or feedstock has to be cheaper e.g. gate fees for waste

2. red rock being mentioned suggests maybe that it is getting a bit closer ?

doubtless Gloomy will have something to say on this...;)

Waxes can be used in many ways-
Candles,
Construction,
Tires
Adhesives,
Polymers,
Personal care

To name a few..And new ways are being developed all the time.. It is definitely not too late.

Candles are definitely yesterday's products gac ;-) Anyway, I'm just sore cos I've been too chicken to get in & trade from the 60p support... GLA

I hardly think wax is yesterday's products!!!! and if the above is true it could well have a significant impact on what is already an exceptional position for Velocys...

I'm still not convinced that the jet fuel VLS is supposed to be producing will be suitable for fracking - and even if it was, still not convinced fracking has a future with the rise in renewables & battery storage. Or the diesel VLS will produce. I'm worried it's a future technology producing yesterday's products (except for the jet fuel, I think that'll be around for a while!)

This appeared on iii this morning... Interesting...

"An interesting note for all you VLS LTH
In the oilfields the operators use a chemical substance called Xylene which is used to remove
Tar like deposits which plug the rock pores
This chemical is very costly and recently some well engineers have discovered that the jet fuel will can also be used for the same effect. However the JF is much cheaper substance and use of it can potentially save over 500000 USD per each well operation.
Now we all know that VLS can also produce equivalent substance to JF but much cheaper.
Imagine the potential for this product when produced in bulk for the oil and gas industry
The massive savings this will generate for a multi billion Dollar industry. The markets are blind to such potentials for this company
We are 12-18 months away from big time hold tight"

Brucie5- The reason why these building blocks are being placed is because the business expects to receive orders possibly more than one and decent sized ones too.

As far a I understand the team are making excellent progress to plan and the team is highly motivated. So not all the fireworks have been lit yet at this party.

Hmm. The bounce is on, but will this prove support? I'm hanging fire for time being, while continuing to hold my core stake. AFAI I understand it, the beauty of the business model still needs to be demonstrated by rolling out of further plants by third parties, with royalties payable to VLS. So while the essential proof of concept is in place now, we still have to see the confirmed interest. And until money changes hands, we have ongoing risk of dilution.

Or have I got this wrong?
