I agree, Velocys does not have all the time in the world. INFRA is on their heels with a more economical solution and SGCE with Juniper GTL is not that far behind also. In addition, both INFRA and SGCE are well financed, while Velocys will be seeing the bottom of their coffers soon.

Is the Wax flowing? .... That's what we are all waiting to hear. - It's about time the BOD started a Drum Roll in readiness for some news. - They seem to act all the time like this is a one man race and we have all the time in the world.- What are they doing to kill off the competition? - It all seems too casual - Mañana Mañana Mañana!

News from the competition: INFRA Technology announced the opening of their 100 bpd plant in Texas - hxxp://www.infratechnology.com/news-1/133/. They should also be in starting up phase. I am curious who will be first announcing the first drop of FT products.

Great minds, Erogenous, or not, in my case! A much reduced holding, but now somewhat less so, as I took the opportunity to top up what I have. I will now hold and wait, while sitting on my hands!

This could be the bottom on investors top slicing. Good News when it comes and it could come any day will take this on to a new high. I have not sold any and hold my pretty reasonable holding,as I have for many years, for the true value of our technology to be recognised.

After the last few days rise which if you study the trades was overblown, the price was increasing rapidly on very small increase in value of trades, it then went on the leader board and would have came to the attention of investors who probably know very little about the company. I have topped up again pending release of the ENVIA news. Being cynical it looks like a good trick to get the share noticed prior to the news coming in, but hey conspiracy theories WTFDIK

If the original drop in price was pegged to oil price drop I reckon we should be around this price anyway. With around 60% held by II,s and 29.5% by RA IF and I say IF there is good news this should do well, so heavily invested and holding. DYOR

Interesting to note that the article does not mention the BP's Nikiski GTL plant experience. BP ran that demo plant for 7 years in Nikiski, Alaska and shut it down in 2009. BP licenced the GTL process technology to Davy, now a Johnson Matthey business. JM Davy is even not included in the list of companies Heinze cited.

I get a very good feeling about this rally... It would not surprise me to see a steady and really strong amount of News flow from Velocys as we progress. Personally I see significant upward momentum . But as ever do you OWN research.....

Fingers has kindly reviewed the progress of VLS. He has not commented.
It looks as if 52p is a critical ceiling.
We shall see if VLS can break through, in the next few days.

That's all been at lab or pilot scale. Commercial scale small scale GTL has never been done by anyone successfully and there's a lot more to get right than just FT (and getting the FT right in the real world is likely a lot harder than when all conditions are controlled). They have not specified what islands are commissioned, nor have they explained why their target date of producing on spec product by year end is no longer possible. What went wrong? What has gone right? The silence is typical but disturbing

What about all the performance data they've released showing the reactor data and improvements they've made? I thought there has been a huge amount of news flow regarding ENVIA. It't not like they're flicking a switch and hoping for the best.

Assuming the news is positive. What happens if Envia doesn't work? Zero. If it does, it needs to work well, needs to be profitable, need to get orders or strategic partnership deals signed (btw aren't ventec, wm, and NRG partners)? Why are they not listed in the partner slide? Guess I'm just saying that there are a lot more things that need to right for vls to be worth more than the current share price, and otherwise game over. Now if they prove that envia is working and PROFITABLE and they have another plant FID, great, I'll buy that stock at 100p cause it could be worth 5x, but without both of those things and funding this is a zero. And all I've heard are high level "the time is now", "addressable market is huge" vageries. Not a single peep on envia, literally one line in the entire strategic review on the sole plant in the company'a existence and the plant that all roads lead from. Makes you wonder

My advice would be not to buy into a stock just because the price is going up. If they come out with a report saying that Envia is operational at 90% of capacity, and profitable, and we have an order for a Envia 2 or something of that sort, sure, buy in even if the stock is at 75p. But to basically not have a single piece of good news in a year, and purchase shares because the stock price has gone up by 50% for no apparent reason I would say is about as questionable of an investment strategy as I could imagine.
