And another purchase. Been adding over the last few weeks, but wished I’d been more aggressive. With the board issues sorted, things are looking much brighter.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the fact that a director has just bought means we must be some way off any results announcement.Whatever, the continued directors buying must mean things are going well so happy to accumulate/average down.

Last year there were trading updates on 4 Sept and 26 Oct. This year, none since the H1 results in June. Year end is Thursday, so I'd expect something pretty soon.

Another purchase from him:

Velocity Composites plc, the leading supplier of advanced composite material kits, providing engineering value-solutions for the global aerospace industry, has been informed that Andy Beaden, non-executive Chairman of the Company, has today purchased 75,000 Velocity ordinary shares of 0.25 pence each at an average price of 23.40 pence per Ordinary Share.

Mr Beaden now has a beneficial interest in a total of 225,000 Ordinary Shares representing approximately 0.63% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Wot's up? Summat's up!

Any sort of positive news, contract, boardroom or otherwise and they will double IMO.

I think the main factor is whether peace has broken out in the boardroom ... director buys suggest maybe it has. And we know trading is on course. Lots of volume to support the idea.

Well unless they are trying to lose money I would imagine they think the company's prospects are improving.Indeed they may even think a decent contract is imminent.

Been lurking here for quite awhile as I watched my investment fall relentlessly. So I have pursued my inevitable strategy of identifying what I think is a good company, buying too much too early and then having to average down in subsequent years.Hopefully that director can see things are moving in the right direction.Back to sleep.

Velocity Composites plc, the leading supplier of advanced composite material kits, providing engineering value-solutions for the global aerospace industry, has been informed that Andy Beaden, non-executive Chairman of the Company, purchased 50,000 ordinary shares of 0.25 pence each on 15 October 2019 at an average price of 18.49 pence per Ordinary Share.

Mr. Beaden had no previous shareholding in the Company. Consequently, he now has a beneficial interest in 50,000 Ordinary Shares representing approximately 0.14% of the issued share capital of the Company.

ADVFN trades aggregates them into a single block, but there were three other very large trades (all Buy) reported yesterday.

The last week has seen some fairly large trades. ADVFN's algorithm is unreliable as to reporting them, but I suspect there's buying pressure.

Obviously plenty of people will be close to what's happening at board level, and whether there might be a final resolution. I don't want to be too optimistic, naturally!

The collaboration with Wesco Aircraft was announced on 12 June:

It could be significant for returning VEL to profitability and growth.
Here's Wesco's own announcement;

Not sure what to make of this

Will the founders now try to run it as their fiefdom?

This looks heavily undervalued IF this is indeed a new beginning. It does sound as if the shenanigans in the board room may not have impacted too much on business performance, in which case it should re-rate, but will take time. Had expected the founders to buy the business back, but looks like they’ve got what they wanted without doing so. Long way to go to get back in the black on this one, and not brave enough to buy more having bought three times on the way down! GLA

It couldn't be any worse than it had seemed to be!

They may have resolved an uncomfortable situation, and this update comes a month after the last, with confirmation of good trading conditions:

"We are pleased to say that business performance has seen a marked improvement during our tenure and we are now trading at a break-even level. We have also overseen the efforts that saw the full amount of EIS/VCT funds employed by the due date on a range of attractive new business investment opportunities as announced on 12 June 2019.

Worth buying on the back of this? Possibly.

Simply out of curiosity it would be interesting to go to an AGM and ask WTF is going on. Someone or group is acting like a bunch of morons.

Either that, or at some point in the past, the legal structure and conditions for board membership/decisions was not structured properly to avoid future problems.

I can't recall any other floated businesses having this much trouble over this length of time - there must have been some of course.

I think it will get bid for one way or another. Composite market growth and market position will make it very valuable to the right buyer IMO.

If the founders have decided they don't like the way it is being run as a public company, the easiest solution is for them to make an offer for the company and take it private. I think most shareholders would accept an offer of around £1.20/share.

Well the value and potential are definitely there, its up to the founders to decide whether they want to make money or lose it. In my experience greed/common sense normally wins out in the end.
