23/7/2021 13:06 | As mentioned before, there is no particular advantage in making an earlier intervention as the share price tends to subside as the deadline is approached, possibly falling to a small discount to the prevailing offer. This tends to flatter the perception of any new offer. So, as Popper implies, we may see no significant action until mid to late August. | boadicea
23/7/2021 13:06 | Popper Joe , thanks a lot. I think results of Advair can also influence and encourage bidder/s. Results due on August the 6 Th . How many bids and in what time frame are allowed ? | a1ord53
23/7/2021 12:20 | a1ord, see page 12 in this guide. Announcement was made on 9th July. Scheme to be published within 28 days (not published yet). Then a minimum of 21 days before court hearing. The Carlyle scheme was issued three weeks after that announcement, so we should probably expect the PMI scheme next week. Add on the minimum three weeks to the court date and you can see that Carlyle or any other bidder still have about a month to make their move. | popper joe
23/7/2021 10:37 | To all ! Who knows if any rules on bids time intervals ? Is it any limitation when next bidder allowed to do next bid and how many bids allowed ? Thx a lot in advance to all. | a1ord53
22/7/2021 22:48 | A1ord never say never. | dp1umb
22/7/2021 15:45 | Many (including me) thought that after the Carlyle bid & I sold around 30% at about 142p.Concern about UK Govt blocking Morris deal hasn’t pushed our share price below 150p & Morgan Stanley announces a holding today -so in the balance & I will await with interest Hik s statement early next month | base7
22/7/2021 08:56 | SG reduced Vec holding from 5,39% down to 4,09% . Looks like they don’t believe for bid increase ? Sp is coming down - looks that will be no more bids and 150p is final. Waiting for Advair results on 6 Th of August . After this looks like will be no catalysts ! | a1ord53
20/7/2021 09:35 | Hikma I reckon next on the list for a bid, someone would have pay p.e 32 which would be around 5000p.But on fundamentals forecast p.e 16. | montyhedge
19/7/2021 19:57 | Certain types out there like to make a fuss to fit their particular narrative - I try and screen this kind of stuff out as it adds nothing from a trading perspective IMO | davr0s
19/7/2021 17:00 | "Wolf in sheep's clothing". | popper joe
19/7/2021 10:09 | Hikma reports results of year half on 6 Th of August . I think they already know Advair results . If they didn’t bid yet , means results not great , otherwise they were already had done bid IMO ! Carlyle doesn’t know results yet and waiting to overbid or no bid ! | a1ord53
19/7/2021 08:40 | I reckon Hikma will be bid for. | montyhedge
16/7/2021 21:31 | Now if Hikma bid, then there would be no backlash........... | jimboyce
16/7/2021 21:16 | The real reason, well covered in the media. is several charities asking the Government to question the bid, as well as Labour Party and some Conservative MPs also furious about a tobacco Company bidding for Vectura. | kenmitch
16/7/2021 17:18 | I guess it is to look good for the public. PMI make money on the cigarettes that (allegedly?) create the symptoms that Vectura treat with their prodcuts. So PMI make money at both ends if the deal goes through. I suspect that there is a large chunk of the Pharma industry that look down their noses at this bid - a tobacco company buying a pharma company. I imagine they have a decent ability to lobby the government (directly or indirectly) too. | srch
16/7/2021 15:26 | Any ideas why government put on monitoring PMI bid for Vectura ? VECTURA: British Business Minister Kwasi Kwarteng has asked officials to monitor drugmaker Vectura Group PLC's proposed takeover by U.S. tobacco group Philip Morris International Inc , the Times newspaper reported. ... | a1ord53
15/7/2021 19:39 | So we just sit and wait - at least I am! No idea what will happen | davr0s
15/7/2021 07:57 | Polygon is just a hedge fund with an interest in special situations viz its shareholding in WHI and current rule 9 offer for WTG. | 18bt
14/7/2021 19:49 | There will have to be a vote. However they are probably waiting to see if Carlyle are going to up their offer first (which has got to be a good possibility). | gbcol
14/7/2021 18:55 | Just had a corporate action from A.J.Bell, informing me of the new offer. Will there be another vote for the said offer? | ps0u3165
12/7/2021 22:54 | Again there are large purchases of positions above the PM offer price indicating an expectation that we have further to go. | boadicea
12/7/2021 10:56 | Polygon increased holding in Vectura (see rns above) Polygon is some like connected to Carlyle imo.. | a1ord53
11/7/2021 19:49 | For me the only other suitor is Hikima as they have already mentioned a number of months ago the funds for the Elipta generic range so for me it would be perfect fit. Have posted on this thread occasionally over the last ten years if it’s that long since the SKP days and like others have mentioned been a mostly pleasant thread without the lunatics that frequent many other threads I occasionally post on | best1467 |
