Yep - I was going to sell out just before next weeks meeting. Think I'll hold a tad longer now

Very nice. An extra 14p a share and still the possibility of Carlyle coming back in with an improved bid. Had very nearly given up on an increase on the 136p, especially as share price had fallen below that level for the 1st time yesterday. Just goes to show you can never tell.

Filtering through the holdings reports this week shows a ~14% interest held by entities that are actively acquiring positions at above 136p. I do not know what interests were reported earlier by others that have not traded and therefore not reported this week.
Those selling above 136p may think they are getting a bargain and presumably the buyers do too!

Done the early retirement also. Another 18 months until state comes just hope it does not all collapse before. I'll probably go less risk averse then. Good luck with your investments.

In terms of my investment strategy, having taking early retirement a couple of years ago I’m not needing huge returns now, 5% pa will be plenty. So even this fairly poor offer isn’t actually too bad for me. I’d need to check, but think I’ll be around trebling my money here, but has certainly been a rollercoaster.

Okay, I have done more or less the same. Just wondering your investment strategy. You have been around since the Skyphrama days like myself its been a long haul. Just glad to be out with a profit. Invested some into ORPH but sitting on cash with the rest.

ps0u3165 - yes I sold a third of my holding at circa 141p, which seems a reasonable decision at this point. Unless deal falls through 136p still gives me a decent profit even if I think it should have been more.

Have thought about selling another chunk now but on balance think it’s worth sitting tight for another week or so. If deal gets voted through on 12th the share price will probably fall a penny or two so that it is less beneficial to sell straight away rather than wait for deal completion in several months..

Personally I’ve had enough of this one, so want the deal to go through now, even if it’s not great.

Why not sell half now to hedge?

I guess they have a good idea now how IIs will be voting. The recent II buyers are obviously looking for an uplift in the bid but depends if there are enough of them to squeeze out another 10p or so.

Only 10 days to wait to find out but the prospect of share price falling back 20/30p and being stuck in for a few more years is not particularly appealing for me. Nearly 20 years is plenty long enough!

Many PIs wont bother voting but I would expect all IIs to vote so the outcome rests with whether IIs would rather have 136p now than see our share price back to 100/110p & remain invested for longer. If Advair & Ellipta ( when approved)) generics are the success anticipated it could be worth the wait.

Add another one against here.

204M against would defeat it if everyone voted, proportionately less based on number actually voting.
A lot of shares have changed hands above the offer price and one can logically assume they will be voted against the offer.

I have to go with base7 - I think that the offer is too low and should be upped by 10/15p. I must also admit that I get fed up with asset-strippers, US or otherwise. Voted against as a result.

I have voted against as my objection to a carve up between Will & his pals at Carlyle.I appreciate that our share price will probably slump if the deal does not happen & we may well be looking for a new CEO & rest of Board -but there is the possibilty of a higher bid, depending on the value Carlyle & Downie expect to extract .An additional 10p would result in an ecceptable level of additional profit -so let's see .

I can understand that Greg. The main reason I’ll probably vote for is if the deal fell, don’t think I could stand being in this share anymore anyway with this uninspiring BOD.

Difficult to know what would happen if they don’t get the votes. Could be an increased offer, they could walk away or could be a rival bid.
