13/2/2013 11:54 | Based on that assumption you may have to add a 1 in front of the 5. What is crazy with a large proportion of explorers/producers is that without the upsurge in gold prices in recent years many mines would not have even been economically viable yet companies like Vane were valued at circa 75M plus back in the day. Nuts! | opaldouglas
13/2/2013 11:45 | I was always told that you need to invest for a minimum of 5 yrs - I have done that and look what happened!!!! | gazza102
13/2/2013 10:44 | Gazza, it's a valid point. I did actually cease any share investments from circa 2005/6 up until 2011 as I was extremely sceptical regarding ridiculous valuations that 99% of companies were valued at. My new found optimism is really based on current valuations which seem somewhat undervalued. | opaldouglas
13/2/2013 09:15 | opaldouglas - Point taken however that could get you in trouble. I was once also but I invested in VML!!! | gazza102
12/2/2013 22:00 | Gazza, I am ever the optimist. How would one survive on the AIM otherwise ;) | opaldouglas
12/2/2013 21:55 | I also agree that David Newton as done a good job. Lets hope he doesn't stop. I think I agree more with Martin's summary. I hope they earn their money!!!! | gazza102
12/2/2013 21:10 | Martin, given previous changes of plans that's understandable. Completely agree regarding exploration programme, this is where the blue sky prospects are for Vane. | opaldouglas
12/2/2013 20:57 | Douglas, as long as your second paragraph holds true, then there is no reason for us to be so pessimistic. As long as revenues continue to be strong and they continue to make a profit. It is important that they restart the exploration program. This limbo land is doing them no good. Also, I do think David Newton is doing a good job. He just needs to steady the ship a little right now. I get the feeling that their plans have changed, and that is not a comfortable feeling. | martin c-j
12/2/2013 18:11 | I do feel for long term holders who have seen the value of the holding diminished in the last 4 years. But given the current Market Cap of £3M, cash in the bank of circa £1M, revenues up by 400% this financial year, number of interesting exploration concessions/uranium plays and the doubling of production due for Mexican operations its odd that the share price is at an all time low. Still, the potential huge upside is the copper exploration which a partner will hopefully be found soonish. Think what you want of Vanes management but I believe David Newton has done a good job since being appointed and Vanes prospects still look v exciting. | opaldouglas
12/2/2013 17:25 | M C-J,"The comment I got was that the board weren't getting any younger, and the implication was that they would like some reward before they get too old to enjoy it." Wouldn't we all! And haven't they had enough "rewards" already? How much more can this thing be milked? It's been udderly milked. (sorry) | kemche
12/2/2013 13:07 | Who said I have faith? It is just a hope! (Sorry about repeated post). | asmodeus
12/2/2013 13:02 | Martin - I wish I had you faith. I hope you are right. But that's the problem for me too much behind the scenes!!!! | gazza102
12/2/2013 12:02 | I hope they are going just to be able to retire on a very high income from Vane dividends. | asmodeus
12/2/2013 11:14 | Yes Gazza. It must be a good plan. I hope so. There seems to be too much going on behind the scenes that is different to what was planned. The comment I got was that the board weren't getting any younger, and the implication was that they would like some reward before they get too old to enjoy it. So that could mean anything. | martin c-j
12/2/2013 10:27 | Martin - No update today. They must be working on that fantastic plan!!!!! you mentioned | gazza102
11/2/2013 23:10 | Pilot, don't worry I am sure they will announce a new "strategy" of whatever happens to the flavour/theme du jour. We have had Gold, Silver, Uranium and Copper so maybe Oil? Or how about rare earth minerals? As long as the "boys" are employed I am sure we will all lap it up. Oh and we haven't had a fundraising for a while so that would help also. Nigh on a decade and sweet fanny adams. More jam tomorrow than Hartleys. | kemche
11/2/2013 22:11 | VML seems to be on the shelf for the recent dash for trash, quite embarrassing this dross hasn't risen with the other ships. | pilot48
11/2/2013 15:56 | Can currently buy 250k at 0.69p against a quoted bid/ask of 0.65/0.70p. Seems we had a large sell of 250k at 0.67p at 12:15pm, but not much else with two smaller trades. Not far off the all time low here. | martin c-j
11/2/2013 09:21 | So much for the monday update. Let's go for a tuesday update!! | martin c-j
06/2/2013 14:16 | If VML are copying last year, we should get an update on Mexico silver and gold production on monday. As long as they are better than the last quarterly update, VML will have been performing as expected. | martin c-j
05/2/2013 12:36 | FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Conservationists and tribes challenging a uranium mine north of the Grand Canyon were rejected by a federal appeals court Monday, but their argument over mining plans that are decades old is expected to resurface as companies look to resume similar operations. Environmentalists and Native American groups had sued the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, saying the agency relied on an out of date and inadequate environmental analysis in allowing the Arizona 1 Mine to operate. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, however, rejected arguments that a gravel permit and a revised reclamation bond were major federal actions that would trigger new environmental reviews. The court also ruled that a temporary closure did not make the mine's 1988 operation plan invalid. Read more: | martin c-j

31/1/2013 16:43 | So who is going to buy Wate off VML? I can't see VML taking it into production | martin c-j |
