Divy - the crucial detail is Sarawak now call the shots. Not the other way round. Ok, it was the other way round for a long long time, but no longer.

Sarawak governing their own OnG doesn’t sound too unreasonable at all.

The law agrees.

...except that PM Mahathir seems to be coming out on the side of 20% of profits, rather than gross revenue. Hardly on Sarawak's team.

Doughty that’s an absolute side show. Petros have legal say on what goes. 20% or 50% or whatever, the call is officially Sarawaks. Calling Petronas to account today is a real man up moment and Petronas are truely on the ropes with nowhere to go.

Doughty - ‘IF’ Steve is indeed in Sarawak, it won’t be to officially engage on legal matters relating to Sarawak vs Petronas OnG rights.

Div - that news was a warning shot across the Petronas bows. the law is on Sarawaks side, Sarawak can do whatever they want, although, as recently stated, Sarawak is wishful of an amicable ongoing major relationship with Petronas. I’m chuffed Sarawak are now on the front foot, publically displaying their position of strength, for what is absolutely theirs.

I expect, after some previous throwing of toys out of the Petronas pram, Petronas will now reluctantly step into line. It’s 100% the logical thing to do. Imvho.

Argyle...thats a good read...I wonder if this quote is linked to SS being there ?..."We need to be advised by our own experts – not theirs (PH and Petronas) "

...and in the meantime, Malaysian (including Sarawakian) oil and gas exploration/development will be in a state of inertia, with key decision-makers unable to sign up to new projects until the political landscape of the oil revenue cut is enshrined in law.

SS will find that out during his stay. NA will become priority no 1 outside the UK.

Doughty - those Sarawakians do love their group photo opportunities when contracts are signed. Let’s hope Steve jetting over there in person is for the very same.

After all, It is now time for Petros to be firm and forge ahead, with a contract or two...

Doughty lots of different exit plans out there some below 4p some above 40p good luck to em I know which camp I’m in,

I checked the tea leaves this morning and the message was clear, NA to land before Sarawak. Ha. Although the wait can be frustrating at times it is also incredibly reassuring that Steve Staley isn’t going to spend our money -or his considerable own - on any old rubbish. Only if the deal is absolutely right will Steve put pen to paper and that has to be a very good thing indeed. Call me The patient one.

Anyone for a conspiracy theory ?

I think that the buyer who ramped up the share price for the company to get the share price up for the placing has been slowly exiting...hence the constant stream of 2-300k sells at the merest whiff of some strength...why else would a large holder sell at this point...with all to play for ?

He or her will still be making money still if they bought enough shares at lowish prices
