08/7/2018 15:24 | What he is getting at he is hardly going to say anything against the company either, so if looking for an unbiased opinion as part of your search criteria he probably wouldn't be the holy grail as it were. | soulsauce
08/7/2018 14:59 | exactly Henry, I'm not sure what Granny is getting at. He works for a PR company who are commissioned by UPL, it doesn't mean he would put anything other than facts on twitter. I Hope YOU do realise that Grannyboy. | thejaba
08/7/2018 14:08 | I would say it entails only dealing in facts. He couldn't possibly put out anything in a personal capacity that wasn't already available in black and white. | henrymcivor1
08/7/2018 14:06 | Would you ever push your granny off the bus? | nlmbidc
08/7/2018 13:53 | It might be factual...but as you have stated this person does the PR for the company....YOU do realise what that entails?. | grannyboy
08/7/2018 13:24 | Biased or factual.....Sasha Sethi is on twitter and bullish on upl. It's factual, if you care to look than you'll see. | thejaba
08/7/2018 13:05 | For those that wanted a bit more evidence of where this is going ....follow Sasha Sethi on twitter....hugely bullish on UPL.... the same Sasha Sethi is in charge of UPL PR...flow works I think it's called. | thejaba
08/7/2018 10:00 | You said a MOU is an agreement between two parties in a JV. UPL have a MOU with Brooke and are not in a JV as I understand it. I understand it does say 'joint venture' in the text small 'j' and is not an actual Joint Venture which has a legal framework and is more binding. Could be wrong, apologies if I am. | soulsauce
08/7/2018 09:51 | Where did I say legal structure? Said agreement. | henrymcivor1
08/7/2018 09:32 | Really henrymcvicor? A JV has a legal structure yet a MOU has a non-binding framework so I don't see how your statement is true. | soulsauce
08/7/2018 09:31 | Yes Jaba it's all obvious If you read my earlier post about Steve has surrounded himself with connected heavy hitters.I am not selling out early here, this one has retirement written all over it.I am after another mill and I'm done lol | stark industries
08/7/2018 08:58 | From @aim_bagger on twitter.... #UPL When Bolhassan was appointed non-exec this was stated by @Upland_Res_UPL:His appointment [...] is considered invaluable to the Company's ambition to take stakes in high-impact, low-cost production and exploration assets in the region.A very influential man in Sarawak.? | thejaba
07/7/2018 21:42 | A memorandum of understanding is the agreement between two parties in a JV. Should follow Sasha's tweets, he is on the payroll at UPL afterall. | henrymcivor1
07/7/2018 21:19 | Or is it a memorandum of understanding 😉 | soulsauce
07/7/2018 15:00 | from twitter... Sasha_Sethi @WrightmanAIM UPL drop well overdone, market makers dropped it to fish for stock, Norza very influential in Malaysia but Bolhassan even more influential in Sarawak. Remember that Upland have JV with a Sarawak state entity and eyeing up potentially transformational deals in the province 7:57 AM - 6 Jul 2018 | thejaba
07/7/2018 13:10 | Vox used an npv of 7.5 dollars a barrel and said it was a conservative value. | nlmbidc
07/7/2018 11:17 | Ok I see where you're coming from now. Thanks for the calculation. That Optiva assumption of $14/bl production is the number that I find aggressive. Others have referred to a more conservative $3-$5/bl level, but of course, jurisdiction and geological issues of extraction should also be factored in, and on that score, UKNS assets score highly. Most conservative case, on success at Wick is $90mn attributable just there.(@$3/bl). | divmad
07/7/2018 10:52 | Finger in the air. If the npv of $14.5 per barrel is used (as per optiva broker note). And the first well produces 30% of the 250 million barrels said by UPL to be present. That is 75 million barrels. Or 30 million barrels to UPL (@40 % interest). 30 million × 14.5 per barrel is over $400 million npv. The finger in the air is for the additional value gained from production. Which will also sustain the share price. | nlmbidc
07/7/2018 10:44 | Good morning all, from a very sunny and warm North Lincolnshire, Doughty, you make a very good point and either way, it just smells of success. Referring back to my comments I made about BPC, yet another oiler that needs just a whiff of a notion that something might be moving and the share price races ahead. This BOD change stands alone in the many I have seen over the years and That being, the calibre of men that Dr S has surrounded himself with. Couple this with the speed in which he was replaced from within, was also very positive. I know that we are no longer involved at Wressle but it does seem that the reconstructed planning application put in this week, has, as I understand it, a much better chance of a positive outcome. | hulltiger
07/7/2018 10:33 | nimbidc, How do you get to $500mn MC from a 8000 bopd production level? | divmad
07/7/2018 10:22 | Yes, it does seem like Sarawak could provide a substantial part of UPL's future. And the North Africa is also substantial if/when we get it over the line. Even Wick will make UPL a half a billion company if it can provide decent (8000 bopd) production next year. | nlmbidc
07/7/2018 09:41 | Dr S from the RNS...speaking either in past or future tense...take your pick !..."On behalf of the board I would like to thank Norza for his very substantial contribution to the success of Upland"We have a very able replacement and Zakaria will not disappear...he will still be called upon as and when "required" ...IMHO | doughty
06/7/2018 20:35 | Companies have been compelled to focus on boosting returns and shareholder distributions at the expense of capital expenditures aimed at finding new supplies, analysts including Neil Beveridge wrote in a note Friday. That’s causing reserves at major producers to fall and the industry’s reinvestment ratio to plunge to the lowest in a generation, paving the way for oil prices to surpass records reached last decade, according to Bernstein. “Investors who had egged on management teams to reign in capex and return cash will lament the underinvestment in the industry,” the analysts wrote. “Any shortfall in supply will result in a super-spike in prices, potentially much larger than the $150 a barrel spike witnessed in 2008. | euclid5
