Hi bada,
I had a few of these from some time back and watched them drop, hoping for a recovery when they got rid of the French exchange shop business. Not such a good deal and left them still strapped for cash with a good business they coudn't afford to develop. Since the placing that has changed and I have bought rather more - but still only about 10% of what I ended up with in RTD!
I think we're still waiting to find out the second large customer mentioned in an RNS a month or so back.
Another one I'm hoping has turned the corner is AXI (gentle ramp.)

Alternatively, the mm's are sitting on largish number (overhang from the placing? - which I suppose is much like a large sell-order on tap) and were happy to hike it fast when the market allowed but are now dropping back and waiting to do it again on the next contract news.
It will look quite enticing if it gets down to 7.5p or better still 7p with a reasonable spread.

just 3000 sold today, 211,000 bought, must be a big sell order lurking... but we are still in an uptrend if it can hold at these levels.

Universe - BUY
Companies: UNG
11/07/2007

Recovery play Universe, the retail and loyalty systems group reinvigorated under a new management duo, has announced two major contracts with existing clients.

Core payment and loyalty systems arm HTEC has inked an agreement with BP Netherlands to roll out 575 online loyalty terminals. The work entails the upgrade and expansion of the existing online loyalty scheme for long-time client BP and the deal is worth an initial £350,000.

Furthermore, a deal worth €880,000 (£600,000) involving the first phase of the roll out of a global software system, has been signed with a mystery oil major. 'This client is one of the biggies,' promises chairman John Scholes, insisting both deals reflect the benefits of a recent restructuring involving the introduction of new management and systems and renewed focus on sales and marketing.

As well as promising similar deals with other oil majors, Scholes sees plenty of scope for growth within an impressive existing client base that includes Chevron, Asda and Total. 'Only Morrisons take the bulk of what we do,' he explains, 'so there's scope with the likes of BP in terms of more countries and in terms of them taking up more of what we do', such as Universe's Virtual Back Office (VBO) system, which is able to manage an entire forecourt operation.

Recommended by GCI at 7.25p, Universe, which lost £3.5m last year with all write-offs included, is forecast to deliver pre-tax profits of £1.3m for the year to December from £14.3m sales, giving earnings of 0.9p. Based on those metrics, the forward p/e of 10.3 looks undemanding. Buy

cumnor, entirely agree with your sentiments. it was the clear indication that more contracts are on the horizon that i thought was particularly encouraging

Just bought in between 9 and 9.6 over past few days. Although contract news on it's own no guarantee of share price surge (eg last Jan,s price drop after directors playing games in Dec) I feel now with more institutions on board after placings this year, less debt and options timing at 8p by directors, that all bodes well. This coupled with news of clast ontract wins (and hints of more to come) make this one to watch out for. Hope I.m right.

WINS have ticked it up to 10.5 on the offer, 8.5 on the bid. now three mms on 8.5. won't be long before we get a move on the bid price i suspect. the spread is far too wide at present. they are going to have to move it up to shake out some sellers.

"Clearly the agreements with BP Netherlands and another of the major oil clients illustrates the benefits of the new management, systems and structure and I am hopeful of further similar agreements with a number of other oil majors in due course. At 8.5p (valued at three times plausible earnings - ex cash), my stance remains "speculative buy"."

Up 12% so far today. Evo have cleared their stock surplus and have moved from the cheapest marketmaker to the most expensive. They now want 11.5p for their shares...

Friday's RNS made it clear that they expect future contract wins with international oil cos to be announced for HTEC over coming months. They didn't name names but few of the possible candidates might well be among those listed here:
