28/4/2020 13:44 | Yes I have to agree the chart recovery could be swift and sharp. Hopefully not too sharp as I want to accumulate more. It is nice being back here it feels like coming home, I remember buying rtd retail decisions at 3p and up and getting bought by Carl Clump and the management for the equivalent of 41p. Those were the days. dyor | srpactive

28/4/2020 06:58 | Not a bad update today, sounds as though they haven't been as badly affected as many have during the crisis and no talk of needing extra funds. | arthur_lame_stocks

29/11/2019 01:07 | Many thanks for your prompt and very interesting response dangersimpson2. I'll also look out for a PI recording to appear, hopefully in the near future. | darryn1
28/11/2019 19:02 | Was recorded by PI world I believe, but not gone up online yet as far as I can see. I attended the presentation - was a bit rambling IMO, Jeremy Lewis seemed to love the product so much he spent most of the time focused on that and we didn't get into as much detail on the financials as I would have liked. Not necessarily bad to have a CEO that is passionate about the product and to be fair the things UNG can offer convenience stores is really impressive, and better than the current technology that the big supermarkets have at the moment - personalised adverts & offers, in-store guidance to products etc. I just doubt whether anyone would bother with this when they go into their local costcutter for a 4-pinter! A couple of other points that stood out to me: - Celtech acquisition was really positive for the company - lots of cross-selling opportunities & all back end systems are transitioning to ab-initio. - This should drive modest revenue growth (UNG are in the sweet spot with about 7% market share - enough to be a player, with a decent client list, not enough that growth would be difficult. Aim is to go from 7% to 12% market share in the next few years. - more importantly, net margins should head back towards the 10% level as they transition completely to ab initio for back end systems. If you do the maths on the revenue increase and margin increase you get some pretty decent profit figures compared to today's price. The question is can they deliver? If they do this won't be an overnight thing - they are targetting mid-21 - but the market is forward-looking so I'd expect the price to significantly appreciate in the next year or so if they are showing signs of delivering. The presence of two strategic funds on the register - Downing & Gresham House - means that they will be getting the guidance/support they need, and pressure to deliver too. I know at least one of those funds seems confident that they will be able to do what they say. I also wonder if they would make sense as an add on to one of the bigger players in the sector. For example, they do all the Morrisons petrol stations but not the stores where a much larger company is needed to deliver the PoS tech. Could be a cheap bolt-on to such a company to immediately add market share & cross-sell. Just to be clear, this bit wasn't talked about by the company though - this is just my general musing. 28/11/2019 16:13 | Currently evaluating this company as a potential investment. I note that they recently made a presentation at a Mello event a couple of weeks ago. Can anyone please provide a link to it in order to assist me in my evaluation process. TIA | darryn1
14/10/2019 21:39 | Just to let shareholders and potential investors in Universe Group know that the management team will be exhibiting and presenting at the two day Mello London investor conference in Chiswick London W4 on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th November and there will be an opportunity to take part in a Q&A at the end of each presentation. These are just a few of the companies taking part... There will also be lots of quality keynote speakers, panel sessions and round table discussions looking at investment strategies & portfolio diversification plus sessions on.... How does a market maker work your share trades? What is undertaken in a company audit? What is hidden on the dark web? & how can retail investors get access to placings? If you would like to join the thousand investors at the event you can gain 30% discount on your ticket by entering the code ADVFN30 when you purchase your ticket. | davidosh
26/9/2019 11:39 | Universe say they are a FINTECH company. In the USA FINTECH companies are roaring away, sadly however Universe seems to be just plodding along. If Universe had been a USA company it seems to me they would be have a Market Cap of several $100mlns instead of the £12mln Market Cap they currently have. | loganair |
