Good Evening All
I see that Universal are doing a presentation on 13th January 2011 in London, if I were in the U.K I would pop along. Hopefully the Presentation will be available on their website or Proactive website.

Best Wishes

my holding of UCL was with III, who don't deal with Aussie stocks. My current stockbroker (HL) doesn't either.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to who to use for UNV?

TIA

UCL has tonnes of coking coal, this may be the best news ever.

Anglo American fights Rio Tinto in global race for coal reservesFast-growing Asian steel industry fuels bids for Australian mining group

The global battle for control of the world's natural resources flared again when it emerged that Anglo American could gatecrash Rio Tinto's plans to buy Riversdale Mining, the Australian coking coal group, for £2.5bn.

Headed by chief executive Cynthia Carroll and chairman Sir John Parker, Anglo has joined a list of possible counter-bidders for Riversdale, whose African business produces coal for the fast-growing Asian steel industry.

Evidence of the importance of coking coal to China surfaced recently when Riversdale signed an agreement with Wuhan Iron and Steel to jointly develop Riversdale's huge Zambeze coal reserves in Mozambique.

According to HotCopper (Aussie share forum) there was a new broker note out today(by Stonebridge) saying an initial price target of 95c, with further massive upside from thereon.

Not seen the report so dyor, but may help explain the 16% rise in today's share price

20th October 2010
TEXT SIZE PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Emerging coal-miner Universal Coal on Wednesday opened its initial public offering (IPO) to raise up to A$20-million, before listing on the ASX.

The coal developer, which owns projects in South Africa, said that it expected to issue up to 76,9-million shares, at 26c a share, before the IPO closes on October 26.

Universal's IPO and share placement is intended to provide funds towards the start of initial mining at Kangala project, in the Witbank coalfields, the progressing of feasibility studies at Roodekop and Brakfontein, and completing further exploration at the company's coking coal projects.

The company has over 726-million tons of Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant coal resources across the Kangala, Roodekop and Brakfontein thermal coal projects and the Berenice and Somerville coking coal projects, with a combined total exploration target of over one-billion tons of coal.

Universal was recently granted a mining right over the Kangala project and intends to start mining in early 2011. The A$12,5-million Kangala mine would produce three-million tons a year of domestic grade thermal coal.

Universal's production would be increased to six-million tons a year within three years, as the company's Roodekop and Brakfontein mines became operational.
