23/8/2005 15:03 | If anyone is interested in the full detail of what happened at NLR: The directors sold off 25% of the entire shares of the company (i.e. more than double the % that UCL directors have just sold) at 280p in November 2004: The price had prior to that been at 350p or so. Following the placing it fell briefly to about 286p closing price (though at one point intraday it fell to about 250p or so), then went on a run to 741p in early March 2005, before its subsequent fall and rise again. No guarantees UCL will do a NLR, but fingers crossed... | wiganer

23/8/2005 11:41 | Hear where your coming from, and if I'd bought in at recent prices I might be a tad worried too, though presumably the purchasing institutions see considerable upside above 110p. However, to put things into perspective, prior to the sale each director held about 15%. They still hold over 9%. Also, I recall something very similar with NLR last year. I forget the price the Director sold at, from memory I think it was 280p. The price wobbled around that time, then went on a run to 700p. I made the mistake with NLR of not holding on long enough and letting the short-term stuff get to me. I intend to avoid the same mistake with UCL, which I believe has the same kind of potential. | wiganer

23/8/2005 11:32 | It's a bit disturbing they've sold 40% of their stakes. I don't begrudge directors making a nice turn and sales of anything up to 10% of their stake is fine or even 25% where they retain a substantial chunk but this looks a bit like opportunism to me. Think I'll wait to see the numbers. | wjccghcc
23/8/2005 10:43 | Agree ram- they've done it before and it hasn't held the share price back long-term. If the institutions think 110p is a good entry price then it makes my 89p average cost look pretty decent. Price has already receovered 5% or so since opening mark-down. | wiganer

17/8/2005 16:48 | Spread the narrowest I've ever seen on UCL. Intriguing. | wiganer
16/8/2005 19:58 | JS Agreed. It seems inconcievable that the next results will fail to show a sizeable growth in T/o and profits. It may be that they aren't "meteoric" but all that would mean is that there may be a dip to revert to a more steady long-term uptrend. Whaterver happens I can't see a compelling bear case. The only small worry I do have is that they rush into an acquisition prematurely- better for them to build up cash and the share price first, especially if they pay with paper. | wiganer
16/8/2005 19:40 | The next figures are the ones to watch. If, as I suspect they might, they show a meteoric rise in turnover and profits, the present share price will be well underlined and secure and the future quite rosy. JS | jeffsmith
16/8/2005 16:53 | gooner Don't want to predict a short-term price, as this one is very much a long-term holding for me. I'd be unsurprised to see a correction at some point soon, as recent short-term trend is near-vertical, but that will not affect the long-term prospects. My longer-term target price if I had to set one, would be £2.00 within 12 months. | wiganer
16/8/2005 16:49 | depends on contracts but think ic will follow up their tip from 2 weeks ago. | e-venturer
