savaloy I think a lot of us have much higher averages and share your pain.

I am not sure where these rumours have come from and no one wants to fess up. I really don't see it as a take over target myself.

Where are these rumours and if they are plausible why is the share price going down?

The thing is that it would have to be one hell of an offer to get the BOD's to back it!

Financial

United has a conservative financial strategy as evidenced by both the commodity price hedging and the mix of the capital structure. The Company's pre-payment facility with BP is based on a floor price of $60/bbl for c.6,600 bbls of crude oil production per month for the next thirty months. This provides downside price protection by effectively hedging this portion of production. Coupled with this, c. 20% of United's net production is gas which is sold under a fixed contract that is relatively insensitive to oil-price changes.

Agree with that soulsauce. There's a useful production history on Slide 6 of

Being drilled on El Salmiya field, the light green production history in the RH graphic, which suggests wells typically add, say, between 600 bopd and 1200 bopd when initially on production, then decline fairly steeply. This well is probably about keeping production going and making use of under used facilities on El Salmiya field.

Apache a big operator locally mention typical success rates of 80% for onshore Egypt exploration.

Very true, I seem to remember Cenkos saying these type of wells have a much better than average probability of success.......I will wait with interest, cheers....

Well others may have a different answer but in my opinion only material in the fact that in this market a good result will keep us stable and a bad result will no doubt get whacked.
But at the end of the day it's just an infil well so not going to have huge Ash2 style impact on production or share price.

xxnjr,

True. Its not a great time for any oil co, large or small. But some will come back stronger than others large and small. The opex here is really low and the fact they will get hedging receipts from very advantageous hedging prices helps massively aswell. This is one to be accumulated in my opinion.

And a good amount of production is gas.

These are going well. Low cost production. Defensive PSC under low oil price scenarios and about 1/3rd production ring fenced from oil price falls.

Yes any dips at UOG are currently very short lived as the buyers are all over it which is obviously extremely encouraging!
