Outlook

Trading in October was similar to the first half before improving strongly in November. Like for like sales for the 10 weeks since the period end to 7 December 2017 show further improvement on the first half performance.

We have started the lead up to Christmas well, which places the Group in a good position for the year. The market remains unpredictable and so our focus will continue to be on protecting our position through maintaining margins and focusing on our delivery of quality and value to our customers. We do see incremental opportunities to expand the business looking ahead into 2018 through the addition of new stores and development of new trading formats but fundamentally the focus is on good execution across our existing business.

Carpetright UK same-store sales were up 0.8pc, with a 2.1pc increase in flooring sales offset by declining demand for beds

PropertyA unique opportunity arose during the period to acquire the freehold of 2 of the Group's long established stores. Rather than allow ownership to pass to a competitor, the Company acquired the 2 sites plus a further non-core site for GBP1.0m in February 2016. It is the Group's intention to sell the non-core site in due course.

I think the vendor is UCG. If you look at the legal packs they show the land registry documents. For example the Worksop site was bought a few years ago for 120K, now being sold for 200K+.
I don't imagine this is "news" as such, I'm just surprised to see so many go in one auction when I can't remember another one going in the last 5 years through either Allsop or Acuitus. :)

Its Allsop they are all already let on decent medium term leases to UCG.

No clue who the vendor is but seems pretty irrelevant news on the surface (am pleased to say)
