How does the chairman of Unilever manage to also chair AkzoNobel and Worldwide Flight Services? Leadership by thirds? Is that really the leadership Unilever needs?

Unilever PLC CEO Alan Jope has said that there are no plans to offload any of its brands or divisions after announcing 1,500 job cuts.

As always with investments, a key element is timing.

It's made many longer term holders very rich.

From the year I started investing (early 90's), Unilever is Up over 1,000%.

That does Not include any dividend income.

If you reinvested those dividends your % return is stratospheric.


But, great companies do not necessarily remain great and a lot also depends on
the quality of a top team running a business.

Holding steady better than I thought as Wall Street down again, maybe a few Tech Refugees coming on board. Hanging on to Profits, as should go higher. I may celebrate with a nice bottle of Claret tonight.

I was, still am, very overweight ULVR, so reduced by 10% out of discipline to my risk management approach.Plus there are a few funds/trackers I like which are looking quite appealing at the moment.I agree a bid is reasonably likely at these levels, but not while markets are so nervy.
