03/1/2024 09:19 | Nice reversal here since the pre Xmas low, Hein has set out his strategy and the company has started to divest/invest to build the portfolio out to grow from.. Next stop GBP40, next XD 04.02.2024.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
02/1/2024 08:54 | When you deduct indian subsidiary $40B odd rest of business valued at PE 8 or less, odd considering strength of brands some of the best around. Lifebuoy, Dove, Axe, Hellmans | giltedge1
01/1/2024 10:45 | Alotto, calls by Ukrainian campaigners according to the article. Which goes on to remind us that Unilever said one reason for staying was to protect its workers but then admitted they were being conscripted into the invading Russian army. I am less certain than you of a stalemate, deployment of sufficient AirPower either side may yet tip the balance. I suspect Russia has a weaker hand than it wishes to reveal. | sparkling banana
31/12/2023 14:24 | Facing calls by who? Unilever rightfully stayed in Russia. All the companies that left Russia just gave away their market share in Russia to other enterprises, which paid taxes to the Russian government anyway. It's not down to individual companies to determine the allaged wrong doing of governments. As Donald Trump once said in one of his interviews, referring to the US gov, "Do you think our government is so innocent?" The war in a Ukraine will rage on, not until one or the other side is defeated, but until the military industry is satisfied with their earnings. Then a peace agreement will be signed. | alotto

30/12/2023 09:42 | 2% is a lot to lose | alotto
30/12/2023 09:08 | Should that happen, the worst case scenario would be a full loss, Unilever's annual accounts show that the Russian business remains a profit-maker for the group – last year it contributed to 1.4% of the company's turnover and 2% of the groups net profit. As of 31 December 2022, Unilever held approximately EUR900M of assets there.. Considering the size/scale of Russian assets contributions, IF it happens it could easily be offset by growth in our other footprint of operations.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
30/12/2023 08:34 | Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said any such move by the West would amount to "theft", violate international law and undermine reserve currencies, the global financial system and the world economy. That is so true. But politicians are a bunch of thieves with no sense of morality. | alotto
28/12/2023 08:56 | hxxps://www.unilever I don't see the acquisition fitting in the strategy to focus on the top brands to drive growth. The product is very expensive and addresses a public where Unilever does not operate. The cost of the acquisition was not disclosed. | alotto
25/12/2023 12:11 | They have annoyed GreenPeace ... Greenpeace International@Greenp PUBLIC IMAGE: @Dove spend millions on their ‘Real Beauty’ campaigns to convince the world their brand is a force for good. SHOCKING TRUTH: Dove relentlessly pollute communities of colour in countries like India, Indonesia and the Philippines. #DoveRealHarm#RealBe | piedro
22/12/2023 17:31 | Thanks Phil I am not sure how this acquisition fits with the new strategy. K18 is a little known premium brand, Unilever wants to premiumise but its biggest customer is the average Joe | alotto

18/12/2023 20:53 | #Alotto, a lot less now, the initial HLN bid was for 50BN, mercifully that was rejected, and the MCAP is currently around 30BN, they are deleveraging and paying a dividend now.. | laurence llewelyn binliner

18/12/2023 14:26 | Perhaps sell some brands, build a war chest, then bid again for Haleon. | montyhedge
18/12/2023 07:47 | Nick Train on Unilever from The Times today "It is a different story with Unilever, the group behind brands including Dove soap and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. “I think Diageo’s growth oppor- tunity is really quite clear. Unilever’s got some thinking to do evidently, and hence a new chair, a new chief executive, a new finance director,” Train says. Sales growth among Unilever’s divisions has varied. Hein Schumacher, the new Unilever boss, arrived amid specu- lation over whether the consumer goods giant should be broken up. Train does not necessarily agree. “Breaking up the company might release some short-term value, but it could be destructive of long-term value,” he says. " | unastubbs
17/12/2023 10:55 | Good find unastubbs. Path to Growth, Compass, Growth Action Plan...Fitzgerald, Cescau, Polman etc...the fundamental issue is that Unilever keeps thinking these top down plans will be different every time...it's just rebranding, but with a dwindling pool of talent and an increasingly homogeneous product portfolio... | sparkling banana
17/12/2023 08:39 | #Unastubbs, thanks for sharing, a great insight into the strategy, we will have to sit back and watch for a year now and wait to measure the results.. ULVR is a buy and keep for life stock, happy to hold it, supertankers take a long time to turn around, see what Hein does on the controls.. :o) | laurence llewelyn binliner

15/12/2023 09:30 | Volumes were only down marginally at Q3 2024 good considering 10%+ price rises. Better than peers. Now inflation down, can now discount to win market share, doing well in India, China & USA Only negative area Europe has been for many years. | giltedge1 |
