Still we grind up. Not unknown for companies with a bid interest get their skates on with the business so share price rises anyway - some evidence of this with last weeks PR and pretty upbeat RNS today. Fairly relaxed whether we get a bid or not as it seems price has awoken

Previously I would have thought a UK Cobham/Ultra partnership would be a good thing - but now Cobham is effectively US-owned the UK defence/security issues would need clearance which I don't think they would get.

Not really - this kind of stuff happens all the time. Whether or not ULE is doing Ok won't stop someone paying to take it over

Very suspicous approach in my opinion. Why not a straight bid, and what do Cobham bring to the party - Ultra are doing fine.

Interesting late RNS. Wonder what made Cobham say something as they clearly knew what they had agreed to. Maybe games being played and could go hostile. No idea - price could go anywhere in either direction next week lol

(Alliance News) - Cobham Ltd late Friday confirmed that it is currently considering a possible combination with Ultra Electronics Holdings PLC, with a view to creating a "global defence electronics champion".
Ultra and Cobham both share advanced complementary capabilities delivering mission critical solutions to the US, UK and other key allies, Conham noted.
A number of structures are under consideration to effect such a combination, Cobham said, including a contribution of Cobham into Ultra in exchange for new Ultra shares or a possible offer for Ultra by Cobham.
Ultra shares closed 6.7% higher in London on Friday at 2,300.00 pence each.
