17/3/2016 20:04 | FWIW being a cynic. my view is that a placing will likely be organised sooner than is really needed, from a strictly financial point of view. As the stated results appear to have been considerably better than expected, (expected 2500 for 12 wells ...208 barrels per well, per day!) IMO there will be all kinds of "mates", cronies, and assorted sophisticated riff-raff crawling out of the woodwork, who will now want a piece of the "sure thing", and might be reluctant to faff around buying shares on the open market, at the market price. As these types will likely promise to love DL & Co "long time" and put their winnings into other "family" ventures. It might be hard to turn them down. IMO the better the news, the more likely they'll rush in a placing, whether they need the money or not. Still....that 1500 barrels from one hole, is some improvement over expectations, by any standards. It must have caught everyone by surprise. Did buy a few. Should be interesting. | thegrumpster
17/3/2016 19:23 | Apologies, the first link is on the UKOG website. Interesting (to me anyway) that the Xodus report expected daily production of 2500 barrels from twelve production wells. And those wells to average less than one tanker per day over the 30 year expected well life. Expectations largely exceeded then. ""......UKOG further envisages that a tight oil well pad could potentially produce at a peak rate of around 2,500 barrels of oil per day(“bopd&rdqu .... A single tight oil multi-well pad conceptual design has been completed, with 16 well slots in two rows of 8, nominally: 12 production wells, 1 water reinjection well and 3 spare/future slots... ....Tankers are loaded with crude in the export loading bays. At the estimated peak production, of around 2,500 bopd, the facility would require approximately 8 trucks per day (one truck every three hours) to transport produced oil to the nearby Fawley oil refinery. Within three years of initial production, the amount of truck movements would reduce to about half that required during peak production, i.e. a road tanker every six hours. Over the estimated 30-year life of a multi-well pad, it is expected that the number of road tankers will average less than one every two days....." | thegrumpster

17/3/2016 18:45 | FWIW, US report, probably already posted, but updated a few days ago 9 March. (Not reading through all the posts as it is a bit polarised even by ADVFN standards...the Lenigas effect ?) Extract: "The Weald shale basin is located onshore in southern England, and could hold large quantities of recoverable liquids. In 2015, a UK exploration company drilled a well in the Weald basin near London's Gatwick airport and reported very positive preliminary results. However, exploration of the basin is still in its early days. Estimates of in-place resources in the Weald basin vary widely, and it is still undetermined how much of the resource, if any, can be recovered economically." Also full pdf report on the website. 17/3/2016 17:15 | There's clearly news in the offing as the share price always spikes like this before an RNS and the insider trading here (and on the other HH stocks) appears to be rife, if you believe the chart patterns. What it does mean though is it normally comes back on the news! How ridiculous. | ![]() funkmasterp12
