24/7/2016 07:41 | Interesting stuff! I now have my Guardian spray and am about to fly to SW France on holiday. I have both the backyard and wilderness forms so will try out both in the wilds of France! GLA Nobby | nobbygnome
23/7/2016 11:16 | The source reference (which is open access) is here: They have identified 4 chicken specific compounds and several other unknown compounds which are also chicken specific. Interestingly the work doesn't have a commercial sponsor and it is currently funded with some Swedish grant money, so I suspect they would be very amenable to talk to someone like Tyratech, accordingly I have forwarded the link onto Bruno with my accompanying thoughts. | timbo003
23/7/2016 09:50 | This article caught my attention It seems that Chicken feathers contain quite a few small terpene type molecules which you would normally associate with aromatic plants and the mosquitos don't them. Presumably this is because they associate the molecules with chickens (and other similar predatory birds) which will eat the mosquitos. I wonder if this is the basis for Geraniol (the principle active ingredient in Tyratech's Guardian mosquito spray) being an effective mosquito repellant, i.e. the mosquitos have evolved to avoid the terpene type ingredients in Guardian spray, as they associate them with danger. | timbo003
22/7/2016 08:15 | This would explain the speed of the virus spreading Very bad news for Brazil’: Zika virus found in second mosquito species esearch by Brazil’s top public-health institute, the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), has found the Zika virus in a mosquito species called Culex quinquefasciatus – far more common than the species that government had said was the vector for the virus. hxxp://entnemdept.uf | riddlerone
22/7/2016 08:01 | Second possible local Zika infection reported in South Florida hxxp://www.miamihera Now that this is beginning to materialize in the more affluent areas of the globe I wonder at what point will this affect Guardian sales.Obviously we haven't seen any marketing yet but surely this must be on the cards with the Olympics imminent and focus once again on the spreading of the disease into the USA. | riddlerone
21/7/2016 16:03 | We should find out next week re. France. The Company expects to update the market further with regard to trading following the completion of its financial half year to 30th of June 2016 towards the end of July. Don't suppose we'll get the interims until September but a trading update is on the cards soon. 1H/2015 saw $3.3m in product sales. I'd expect that to be comfortably beaten given the increase in sales outlets. | michaelsadvfn
18/7/2016 10:21 | I think France will be making a contribution because they must be selling stock as a first order into multiple stores. The French launch was announced in April so there will be over 2 months of sales in this half year. BTW I am not suggesting that the average is 3 a week. My guesstimate would be 1-2 per week from my observations. Incidentally just been in to the local town this morning and there are still only 2 on the shelf so I guess they haven't restocked yet. Nobby | nobbygnome
18/7/2016 09:23 | Good to hear Nobby. I think it's too early for France to make a contribution but even so that works out at about 4.5m units @ close to 70% margin. Those sorts of numbers would put Tyratech into profit but they aren't expected to move into profit until 2017. I look forward to the results and new broker note from Allenby. Hopefully they'll be trading ahead of expectations and we'll see a nice uplift in the share price. | michaelsadvfn
05/7/2016 14:29 | Rather odd that this has been marked down on more buys than sells... | michaelsadvfn
28/6/2016 10:48 | Only here for a couple of days so not possible as it is only available on Amazon. However, my friend who lives in the US has bought me some and is coming to the UK next month so I will be doing a field test! I wonder when it will be launched in the UK.... Nobby | nobbygnome
28/6/2016 10:41 | Nobby.....but you will be able to pick up (and field test?) some Guardian Wilderness Mosquito and Tick repellant . . | timbo003
28/6/2016 10:23 | More buying this morning. There is still no offer and the MMs are bidding up for lots of stock. More upwards movement to come IMHO. I am away in the US at the moment so can't do my Boots run ;0) GLA Nobby | nobbygnome
27/6/2016 11:21 | Quite agree. Friday's 300k sell has already been mopped up and there seems to be some interest in this stock at long last. Perhaps we are on more radars than I thought. Being offered 3.90 to sell. | michaelsadvfn
27/6/2016 10:56 | The price on the screen is a bit false because they are bidding up for 400k at 3.8p and won't sell you any size at all. It will not take much to get the price moving despite the wider market. Nobby | nobbygnome
25/6/2016 17:49 | "Vamousse, you varmints!" | lr2
20/6/2016 09:45 | Up to No.4 on the Amazon bestsellers list in the U.K., No.6 in the USA Not sure what to read into this but we'll find out next month. | michaelsadvfn
17/6/2016 16:31 | Thought a delayed trade would appear after they upped the bid, and there it is, 250k buy. | michaelsadvfn
17/6/2016 10:42 | Yes I bought a few more TYRU by spreadbet this morning. Spreadex are now doing a rolling bet as well as the defined period bets. Still no corresponding buy on the trade log though...... Nobby | nobbygnome
17/6/2016 10:19 | ...and I can't even get a quote to buy 25k shares. Put in a FoK. Got 'em. Not a fortune but every little helps. | michaelsadvfn
17/6/2016 10:16 | >> one thing Yes I only count a sale when I know the stock on the shelf goes down. They don't replenish the stock that quickly in my experience. The max they have on the shelf at any one time is 4 boxes. At one point the week before last it was down to 2 after I knew it had been 4 earlier in the week so that counts as 2 sales.Of course as you suggest I could miss some sales in the interim. For example yesterday there were 3 on the shelf which was the same as the day before. So had they not replenished the stock or had they sold at least one more? Even going on just when I know for sure they sell a box ie the stock on the shelf goes down from one visit to the next, I know they are selling comfortably more than one a week. I estimate it is more like 2 a week at least on average. I repeat again that this is a small store in a market town so I suspect there will be higher sales in the bigger stores. To me this bodes very well for sales overall. Nobby | nobbygnome
16/6/2016 18:49 | Nobby you can't estimate sales by counting product on a shop shelf by visiting once a day. Have you considered they may be replenishing stock from the storeroom while you are not there?! | onething
16/6/2016 11:17 | Nothing wrong with checking up on Boots Nobby, and I'm happy to receive your feedback. It looks to me as if we are on a few more people's radars with these sells being mopped up. 1H results in about 6 weeks should add to the interest here. | michaelsadvfn
16/6/2016 11:08 | I bought a few more via spreadbet. However, as far as I know Spreadex don't actually cover their position so they won't appear on the trade log. I went in to my local Boots on Monday and then Wednesday. On Mon there were 4 boxes and on Wed 3 so they sold at least one more this week. I have become very sad and go into Boots every time I am in town! However, as I have said before it is very illuminating as to how many they are selling. Just going into town again this morning.... Nobby | nobbygnome
16/6/2016 10:49 | Someone is hoovering up all these piddly sells. Now this really is a good example of the patient entertaining the impatient. | michaelsadvfn |
