Marketing started 16th Aug so should be an announcement shortly. The market for over-the-counter head lice products is over $100m a year in the US alone. If they can get it on the shelves and it works as well as they say, it will be a game changer.

Zelder, nice find!
I just clicked through to the Tyratech website and on products/headlice page 18 there is a picture of 2 Tyratech Naturals Lice Treatment mousse products.
I dont think I have seen this before.

Looks as though they might have dropped the Vamousse name and gone for new name/branding of "Tyratech Naturals" and Non-Toxic

Looks good, I would buy it for my kids
Must be getting ready to launch the product soon.

I can see how it is easy to become disillusioned, Techair, after everything that has happened whilst you have been a holder during the last 4 years.
One of the main differences to the company now though has to be Bruno Jactel. Time will tell just how successful he will be but if his previous record is anything to go by, Tyratech couldn't have anyone better.

Don't think the net losses for this year will be as much as the $6m you suggest.

Anyway, how on earth can we fail when we have employees like these!!

Fair point techair.
They appear to be concentrating on the US and forgotten about the head lice problem we have here..
It would be good to have a trading update from them.

mdchand..Good reviews for the crawling insect killer

also good for the Sting Insect Killer:

I bought this to try on a wasps nest in my garden after already trying another product that didn't work. It wiped them out in 24 hours and now I use it around the house. It's 100% safe for the kids and the dog also. Every house should have some.
-------
Purchased this to kill a bees next near my window. Followed the directions and used this in the night time. When I woke up the next day, all the bees were dead!
The product does not have a bad smell to it. It almost smells like a orange smell. Spray stream worked great and is easy to use.
-------
Worked well on a small cluster of bees two weeks old. Pest control companies wanted from $195.00 to $225.00.
I would like to see a trigger nozzle like a pistol instead of pressing nozzle from top. Over all well worth the money

Decided to see if these things really worked. Reviews on Home Depot are great, so fingers crossed they're getting some real traction in the US.

All anecdotal, but atleast pointing in the right direction.

I hear what you are saying dassaco but we don't even have a commercial partner for this yet so they are pushing it to get a launch by end of year?

Also it does border on a broken promise.......?

11 December 2012

David Paton, TyraTech's Head of European Operations, said, "We are excited to have received our first product registration in the UK. VaMOUSSE!(TM) is the first in a range of products we envision for the removal, treatment and prevention of head lice infestations. We are actively seeking retail partners to distribute our product under their own store brands or through other channels under our brand VaMOUSSE!(TM). We expect the product to be launched in the first half of 2013."

With reference to Vamousse launch.
In the RNS dated 18 March 2013 it was stated that the commercial launch of the Vamousse product was going to be at the end of 2013.
So I don't see how that can be described as a broken promise as we have not yet got to the end of 2013.

Extract from RNS 18th March 2013:
The Company continues to focus on three main areas of the market:
Head Lice control: In December 2012, the Company received notification from the U.K. regulatory body, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency ("MHRA"), that the Company's head lice product VaMOUSSE!™ has been registered with the MHRA as a Class I medical device. The Company is now in discussions with a number of retail partners to distribute the product under own store brands or through branded products in both the mass and pharmacy markets. The Board expects the product to be launched commercially at the end of 2013. Registration is also being actively pursued in the USA, where there are substantial market opportunities. Discussions are already on-going with potential commercialisation partners including discussions with regard to head lice and personal repellent products with a market leader in France and a global leader in mass retail of own branded products.

Zelder, apologies for the doom and gloom, but after nearly 4 years of investing in the Tyratech growth story I have become a little cynical.

You can only look at some many 'billion dollar' market presentations to realise a common theme running throughout, namely we are not in any of them.

Compound this with the frequent and well trodden path to the City for yet more cash and you can understand why alarm bells ring when I hear of broker lunches.

Another hidden gem looms in the form of 10 million Amvac warrants which contain a provision to be re priced if any new shares are issued below 6 pence. Yet, more dilution for long suffering shareholders.

By my calculations we will have one of the largest losses on record this year – around $6 million.
The accounts later this month will show just how close this is to the actual figures, but bear in mind Eric has already warned about poor product sales:-

Eric G. Wintemute - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
"Well, one of the things that -- and this was not the strongest, robust year for home insecticide sales, just kind of late-season starting."

As you say, what happened to the Vamousse launch, another broken promise?

Maybe I was 4 years too early, who knows, LOL

All IMHO of course.

....continued.....Q&A session (hxxp://seekingalpha.com/ ):

Q:If I -- if you could talk a little more about Envance. Are we likely to see more retail outlets than just Home Depot? And if so, in what type of timeframe? We're talking about just the U.S. and then I'd like you to comment on any developments outside the U.S. that you can share with us.

Eric G. Wintemute - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
So there are at least 2 major distributors that are signed up that will begin in tail end of fourth quarter and more predominantly in first quarter of '14. There are several others that have expressed interest. I think for these 2 that fall in line with -- along with Home Depot, would capture significant part of the market. And then it becomes a matter of others that just say, "Okay, we don't want to be left out." So getting those 2 are key to moving forward. Outside the United States, yes, we've been meeting with various retail chains and distributors. We do not have anybody signed up, I think, in Europe where we think there's great opportunity: France, U.K. and Germany. Unlike -- I have registrations approved. Unlike the U.S. where these are EPA-exempt from registration, they do require government registrations. And again, those 3 countries are there and that's where we're talking. The expectations are to begin sometime in 2014, but we don't have any concrete contract at this point.

Q:Just to follow up on the Envance. Can you talk about any repeat sales with your existing retailer? And can you talk about advertising budget, shelf space, things like that? Give us some confidence that consumers are going to see the product.

Eric G. Wintemute - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Well, one of the things that -- and this was not the strongest, robust year for home insecticide sales, just kind of late-season starting. But Home Depot was very thrilled with what they saw in relation to other people in that shelf space. From a promotion standpoint, one of the things that we've -- we had launched with was -- and this kind of carries to that, that when it was basically going to be more under Terminix, it really is an industrial looking package. So if you haven't been in the shelf and seen it, it's mostly gray. And what we'll be launching when we move into the next year's sales will be colored packaging that looks much more robust and will stand out much better in the shelf. A lot of social media type approach, we have not laid out a large-scale kind of mass advertising. I think, initially, we'd like to gain shelf space and then try to work with the various retailers on targeting specifics within their market. And so that's kind of where our approach is for now. So I don't think you'll see us launching $20 million type ad campaigns in the near future.

Q:So it's going to be, in part, a professional pest management product as well as a consumer-oriented product, is that right?

Eric G. Wintemute - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Well, it is. Terminix has been moving into that market. We will probably look to supplement them in some fashion there. But I think our biggest drive because of the safety of the -- and the need for an efficacious product that people don't have to worry about toxicity from as far as animals and humans will be to kind of drive that consumer market.

American Vanguard are still to put their last conference call transcript (from last month)on the website but found it on: hxxp://seekingalpha.com

The parts which mention Envance/Tyratech:

Eric G. Winterman

Now I'd like to discuss a little bit about TyraTech. As we explained in our last call, while exploring avenues for growth in nonagricultural applications, we became familiar with technology developed by TyraTech using essential oils derived from various plant materials. A number of these oil blends possess the unique ability to inhibit the tyramine, G protein-coupled receptors of invertebrates while having no effect on vertebrates. Consequently, such oils can be formulated to repel or kill insects while having no human toxicity concerns. We immediately recognize that this technology could be a valuable complement to our existing portfolio of synthetic chemistries and we engaged TyraTech in discussions about collaboration. As a result, last December, we announced the creation of Envance Technologies, which will utilize TyraTech technology to formulate pest control products primarily for the consumer marketplace. The enterprise is 60% owned by American Vanguard and 40% owned by TyraTech. And it has begun commercialization of its Terminix ultimate protection product line within initial nationwide launch through the Home Depot. The total global market for such spray treatments that kill crawling, flying and stinging insects is estimated to be several billion dollars per year. And we believe that this highly effective, safe, nonchemical technology can successfully penetrate that segment. Indeed, independent testing of these formulations demonstrates that they can be as effective or more effective than the leading brands on the shelf today.
Additionally, in March, we announced that we have invested $3.7 million to acquire a 29.46% stake in TyraTech. This equity share will allow us to participate as an owner in the personal care and animal health applications that TyraTech is pursuing. I'm a member of the 5-person Board of Directors and will be actively involved in oversight of the company's progress. Target markets include head lice control, mosquito and other insect repellents and various animal health treatments.
As you are aware, we know a good bit about mosquitoes and TyraTech's repellents looks very good. We'll keep you posted on developments in this exciting endeavor.

Good posts, dassaco, and i too think you are worrying unnecessarily, techair. You are correct in that the next set of results (financially) may not be good(depending upon how much revenue will be shown from our 40% stake in Envance Technologies). However, it will be the following years p&l(and future ones), when full revenue streams from Envance and the Novartis deal (and who knows what else?!) will be shown.

Sorry for the delay zelder - totally understand what you are saying above but how will we fill the gap financially between now and the following years? Uncle john says Bruno et al are doing the rounds to brokers etc so I wonder if that involves any sort of potential placing? Speculation on my behalf but would appreciate uncle johns' comments and anyone elses too on this

Mark, I think that is a very good idea and it would be good if this is what they are considering.
Very interesting that you have seen this happen before with a regulated type stock.
History often repeats itself, so it will be interesting to see if this happens.

Last time I dealt in one of these reg s,w 8ben type stocks was OCZ.

I bought shares at all prices down from 20p to 3p, the directors got the hump with AIM and relisted on the Nasdaq and I sold them all for an average of $8.

So that was nice.

Given the US connections here, I wouldnt rule out a similar scenario.

Uncle John - literally no interest in this stock due to issues of liquidity, some hangover perceptions from the previous management incumbents and possibly financial worries. Bruno is a class act and would have not been short on offers elsewhere.

In my opinion, he has delivered with the JV with Vanguard and the distribution agreement with Novartis. I suspect the market is now waiting to see actual numbers before taking an interest, but I simply fail to see why such large Companies such as Vanguard and Novartis would have spent time dealing with such a small Company like Tyra unless they felt the commercial returns justified the reputation risk (Novartis) and cost (Vanguard).

Any decent numbers at the next interim should see this re-rate substantially.

Read post 735 and 737 for more information.
