European stocks set to edge higher, tracking positive global sentiment

Key Points

Earnings are in focus once again in Europe on Monday, with Heineken, AXA and HSBC among the big names reporting.

On the data front, final Markit manufacturing PMI (purchasing managers’ index) readings for July are due from across the euro zone and the U.K. on Monday morning.

LONDON — European stocks are set to open higher on Monday, tracking positive sentiment around the world to begin the month.

Britain’s FTSE 100 is seen around 34 points higher at 7,066, Germany’s DAX is expected to add around 69 points to 15,613 and France’s CAC 40 is set to climb around 33 points to 6,646, according to IG data.

ExxonMobil continued to progress its major deepwater developments in Guyana, including the announcement of new discoveries at Uaru-2, Longtail-3, and Whiptail, which increase confidence in the quality and size of the resource and supports the potential for 7 to 10 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facilities in the Stabroek block. Exploration, appraisal, and development drilling continues, with a total of six drillships now operating offshore Guyana. The company's high-return developments remain on schedule, with Liza Phase 2 on target for 2022 startup, Payara on schedule for 2024 startup and Yellowtail targeted for 2025 startup.

Investing has never been more of a minefield, with out-of-control hedge funds going for maximum greed and creating a very dangerous situation for the future of capital markets, especially in Canada, where every company—good and bad, legitimate and fraudulent alike—is completely vulnerable and unprotected against short sellers whom regulators are seemingly powerless to reign in.

IMHO it's more rife and TOXIC within the UK markets for sure.

Ammu this TEN decline is going on since years and is sth everyone here knows since at least half a year, after rahul discussed this problem in one of the long webcasts. they will be adressing this problem with a gas injector which will shortly start to be drilled to boost the production of 2 producers by improving the GOR of these wells plus the flow rate. the higher pressure by reinjecting the gas improves flow rates and on the other side makes the gas to liquify back. I am not an expert but as far as I understand it the gas cap on the top in the oil reservoir gets bigger and bigger without it because the pressure is declining without the gas injector, making the gas cap bigger and bigger which results at some point in rising GORs as the gas cap reaches the producer wellbore down in the reservoir. that will adress 2 problems. It will free capacity in gas handling to let other wells with high GOR flow faster and to improve the GOR of the 2 producers which both increases the daily oil production of TEN.

It does SS but TLW's small bit could only be developed as part of a wider scheme and each new XOM discovery in the cretaceous pushes Hammerhead tertiary further down the project queue on inferior economics.
