With my research SR looking at pension fund data most pension funds that invest in the US market seem to have around a 6-7% holding into Microsoft and because of Brexit in my opinion a lot of UK people have invested their pension into US funds and I might be wrong but I think Microsoft has come up so strong because of UK pension fund money.

30th Jan was some warning in many ways. Not just price

I'd say 154.138 or 122 . Be up to market but in medium term I'd understand price going back to one of those and consolidate

Microsoft is now 170, last year it was 121 at some point, I don't believe that Microsoft is worth 170 I would personally put a sensible figure of Microsoft at around 147.

I'm convinced the market is going to discount the rise from commencement of QE at some stage

They had serous gap ups and falling. Microsoft following but just too big to put money on. A retrace after a decent fall is shortable

If Microsoft can fall then the Dow Jones gets corrected in a big way, bonds then come up bigtime! boom!

No I wouldnt. Nor apple . Tesla was/is a tempting short but not that either

Just because I short doesn't mean I'm insane lool

I only short after something is under attack. And then look for short value during that

Let me ask you an honest question SR, I think Microsoft is over priced at the moment but would you short it?
turvart

Tulvart that's what risk management and stops are for.

I agree that shorting is lethal without guarenteed stops . Especially outside of the ftse 350

Got taken to the cleaners myself years ago although it was a buy. The things we learn at the beginning lol. But serves well in the future

Another simple yet always forgotten point by silverstone

was chat on a different stock but he put good perspective on it

So: circa 100p buyers

you had a 50% drop on holdings but now needc price to increase by 100% to breakeven

.............

shows the importance of risk management. Each drop , you need the stock to work twice as hard for you as initially thought from execution day.

cant beat stop losses

Best of luck to anyone valuing that one. Be harder than valuing a bank
