With the merger falling through, its only a question of time before two of BGC, Tradition and GFI merge, thereby pushing Tulletts into third place in the broker league, which in effect marginalises them.

I see there's a new estimate from Kaupthing dated 15 July raising forecasts to 40.1p eps for 2008 and 45.8p for 2009. I was on holiday last week and I missed the chance to top up below £4. Of course the chance may come again!

Hi Seb, I bought ICAP last week at 5.20 to average down my holding - I agree with you that TLPR at 4.20 look cheap (they are up to 4.30 as I write this) - good luck all.

Forming a very nice descending wedge here jinxo, looking for some up moves to around 450 this week. This 420 range support is holding up well but I'm feeling pretty bearish on TLPR breaking out on the upside of this wedge.

I am going to wait and see what happens when the USA markets open and the decide whether to buy now or wait for the share price to go to £4.20. Any views?

I am going to keep buying these below £4.30 and selling around £4.70 (the next time would be the 5th time since Jan) - I have missed a few spikes above £4.70 but I am happy with a 8-10% profit on each go. jinxo

Too right, no trades for me because of a sea of red. Looking for another entry point into TLPR though. 40p a share is still pretty good jinxo!

I changed my mind - sold this morning at £4.69 - too much red on my screen - I can see these being dragged down by the general doom & gloom in the financial sector - I might be wrong and regret the sale but I am happy to take 40p a share profit today. good luck all.

Yeah it does look good for 480 next week so think you'll get something decent to hedge BARC. The banks are just insane for trading at the moment.

I've never worked for them either, didn't know what they did till Wednesday =D

I am staying in - I can see £480 next week - I need the dosh to make up for the money I am losing with Barclays - another cr@p week (apart from TLPR). have a good weekend everyone.

Decent news, I cashed out today at 471. Still looks very strong in terms of of my other indicators but not up for holding over the weekend. I think we will see further gains on this afternoons retracement to the high 60s. Holding the emas well at the moment and could see some moves back above 468 before close imho.

BROKERWATCH Tullett Prebon upgraded to 'buy' from 'neutral' at Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS - news) LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Goldman Sachs upgraded Tullett Prebon Plc (LSE: TLPR.L - news) . to 'buy' from 'neutral', added the company to its Conviction List, and lifted its target price to 610 pence from 570 in a note in which the broker highlights that in its view, 'hidden' value is overlooked, according to market sources.
