22/10/2014 11:09 | Thanks Gostevie. I became aware of the change to Thursday a couple of weeks ago but didn't update my daily alert sheet accordingly. It is now amended. Thanks for the reminder. It's still a very welcome rise in the price for today. | micos
22/10/2014 10:20 | Hi tom111, Indeed. And to be registered by the 24th (Friday) you would need to buy them two days in advance (T+2), i.e. the 22nd (Today). Hence they are XD from tomorrow. | gostevie63

22/10/2014 09:05 | micos - The price by the look of it. Clearly, the market isn't paying attention. | fabius1
22/10/2014 08:27 | XD tomorrow actually. The standard settlement period changed at the start of October and dealing is now T+2, meaning that the standard XD day is now Thursday, not Wednesday. See note 5 here: Steve | gostevie63

17/10/2014 07:48 | The enormous and rapid increase in volatility and the spike in the VIX Index are not good for everybody but should be excellent for the brokers. Volatility is after all a key driver of their business and trading volumes. ALL IMO> DYOR. QP | quepassa
15/10/2014 11:18 | Should be an update soon,xd at the end of the month | tom111
03/10/2014 18:19 | poss increase in interest rates in us soon and the dollar strength could get this moving soon, hope | tom111
18/9/2014 12:02 | I'm not a chartist or technical indicator person, but these look like they might have some momentum to go above 300p soon? | boonkoh
18/9/2014 08:15 | Very erratic start here this morning but looking a good bit better now. Inter dealer consolidation talk makes this a promising prospect. | diamond1
18/9/2014 08:02 | The tide is swiftly turning. Volatility dramatically and rapidly comes back to the global financial markets. Major recent swings in F/X rates. More and more talk of FED increasing interest rates. - The backdrop seems to be improving significantly for brokers. Interesting article on page 33 of today's FT about Tullett's arch-rival, ICAP. The Ft article says :- "ICAP took on 4.8% (yesterday) to 376.4p after UBS took the stock off its "sell" list." UBS is quoted as saying that "Volatility looked promising for the interdealer broker with its own proxy for volumes up 17% year on year this month" The article finishes with a final quote from UBS:- " Should the 30 September update contain positive news as data seems to indicate, we think that the shares could bounce hard". Always good to keep an eye on what the brokers are saying about the competition. Clearly, if ICAP are experiencing a great surge in volumes, it points to a big pick-up in activity across the board which should also benefit Tulletts. With all the recent cost-cutting at Tulletts and a seemingly big pick-up in market volumes, it seems to me that business prospects may be looking much brighter and bodes well. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
11/9/2014 07:31 | Yesterday. Respected broker Canaccord Genuity resumes cover on Tullets and issues a:- - BUY recommendation, with a - TARGET PRICE of 330p According to an article in today's FT:- "At nine times next year's earnings and promising a safe 6% yield, Tullet had priced in low trading volumes and regulatory change, Cannacord said". ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
11/9/2014 07:25 | The tumbling pound ahead of the Scots YES/NO vote must surely be stimulating a dramatic increase in fx volumes for the brokers. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
10/9/2014 15:22 | Well, nice little bounce today, possibly on the back of the BGC bid. I need to get back to £4 to break even but I've had some good dividends over the last five years or so. | diamond1
09/9/2014 20:57 | Interesting to read that BGC Partners has launched a $675m hostile counterbid for rival GFI Group this morning. The fall in the trading volumes in the last few years have hurt every inter-dealer brokers, and so the move by BGC Partners may herald the start of a consolidation process. Admittedly, a bit of day dreaming here but ICAP's market cap is almost 5 times that of TLPR, so the latter can potentially be swallowed up, especially given the recent departure of Terry Smith! | fatken
03/9/2014 19:48 | Dollar going from strength to strength bodes well | tom111
18/8/2014 14:18 | In again at2.74p seems to have settled down, but anythings possible as we know | tom111
15/8/2014 09:40 | Bang, back to reality,270p never chase this stock | tom111
15/8/2014 07:26 | BOOM! 300 here we come.... | jezza123
15/8/2014 07:17 | Missed the boat this time ah well | tom111 |
