04/1/2001 14:16 | LJS - Futs -41 (on back of US jobless up, showing harder landing IMO). It is quoted x100, and I have an amusing story that cost me a couple of k when I didn't realise when betting with IG, and went £800 down on the spread alone! (Went £100/point instead of £1/point). ITL now 3.80/3.85. KSS quoted 2.51/2.54 CMC, so closed: still 2.52/2.55 MMs, but perhaps getting tight. Any views on the vast ITL buys today? Are MMs now after stock? (Though not vast when you consider the stock dilution of 30,000,000+). | spectoacc
04/1/2001 14:16 | LJS - that's right, except it doesn't allow for Fair Value adjustment - see for this. | analyst
04/1/2001 14:16 | HI ljs These prices are quoted in hundredths of a point Not sure why sb | soundbite
04/1/2001 14:11 | Help please. On the Chicago Merc Exch Futures, how do you read the "net change"? Is there a decimal point in there. For example, it's showing NSDQ100 MAR01 2498.50A and NET CHGE as -3100. Is that -31.00 to you and me? And if so, then I take it that the previous contract value, at the end of yesterday, is 2498.50 + 31.00 = 2529.50. Or am I seriously effed up? | ljs
04/1/2001 14:05 | Just sold a further 1k ITL at 3.82 - 125,000 + 250,000 buys at 3.90 reported, and 3 MMs went lower! Not sure what's going on, but only one MM on 3.82 again. Apparently two huge buys at £4 today too, but price has risen and drifted. Will close KSS long shortly - MMs are getting loads of buys, but 200k buys not enough for all the stock they're holding! | spectoacc

04/1/2001 13:21 | AU. weak due to profits warning from Inktomi apparently. Futs nearly level - opening will be interesting. Anyone else see BBC news lead with FTSE surge? Yet it's up less today than it lost yesterday. Guy on Working Lunch said "UK base rate rises still can't be ruled out". | spectoacc
