The drop will come in advance of the 29th. Look at Rolls Royce and IAG for reaction examples.

It will drop, the equity has been severely diluted, at today’s valuation with the new shares to be issued it would virtually double the float, so would therefore increase the valuation by that much. It has to drop!

But WILL this drop on 29th? I don’t see any chance of that. The drop already happened on/around 12th in anticipation of this so it’s already built into the price.

My post 1477 still true and will remain so.

Long way to go but I think the idea is gaining traction

Have sold my original shares at 404p and kept the rights - don't see how this won't drop on 29th GLA

Shorting does work if you get the entry right. Always buy or sell when the moving averages are close together. I was too impulsive.

Apologies in advance for potentially stupid question: Is it possible to sell some rights and to exercise the remainder?

What did I do wrong apart from being short?

Had an original of 9 at 263.

Rights issue announced and spreadex opened -7.76 Price 0

-2342.74 loss

I wasn't really understanding the situation and bought to close the position.

How could I have got out without a loss? Not sure how it was calculated?

I previously had a short with Kier but only a £55 loss when a right issue was announced.

And the airports have got it - might need more than 8m each but another clear sign governments won't let airports / airlines go to the wall if push comes to shove - they're crucial to any kind of recovery

The Observer:
Industry leaders have said the UK’s aviation sector urgently needs more government support if it is to survive another lengthy period of travel restrictions, as they warn of a deepening financial crisis over the coming months.

I think there's a great deal of upside to travel stock to come - we're not post pandemic yet

Read (or get the audiobook version) this 'The New Great Depression: Winners and Losers in a Post-Pandemic World' (ITunes is a fiver cheaper that Amazon) and you'll sell TUI, IAG, and similar stocks at the bell tomorrow AM.

Yes the more I think about it - I might be best selling the original shares up 20percent - have already taken up the rights - any advice, thoughts ?

Go careful here. Similar happened in RR. The pre-placing rally made us think we were responding well to the fund raising, then the rug was pulled from under our feet.

The rights are tracking at a discount equivalent to the rights placing price, so no benefit whatsoever in buying additional rights over normal shares.

I must say though, I'm rather pleasantly surprised by the performance since the offering, I guess it helps that they are fully underwritten.

Anybody have guidance on whether its worth buying more rights

e.g. rights valued 306p
plus a 1.07euro on top of that to excersise the additional rights
just takes the cost of purchasing back to the main share price of ~400p so what is the point of buying additional rights vs. the main share?
