The Hydrogen rise (35%) - its worth noting that Triad also are in the "recruiting" business - for IT consultants so there is some overlap. Who knows perhaps the chairman will sell .

Second biggest riser on FTSE100 again is AVEVA GRP - sector: Software Development
Every firm in the FTSE250 in software development sector up including AVAST up over 5%. In rest of FTSE (small cap etc) they are also mainly up.

Looking back over the week nearly all the big risers in FTSE fledgling, small cap etc were SOFTWARE companies: ALFA, SDL, NANO, NCC.
Biggest riser over the week on FTSE 100 was AVV (also Software and computer services).
Triad also had small rise during the week and some more buyers coming in.

You would expect them to be very busy with keeping people working and adapting to the changes too. This might be why they have recruited more people. I suppose public sector has dropped but that could pick up again.

Largest rise on FTSE100 over past 5 days has been "AVEVA GRP". This company is in FTSE sector: "Software and computer services" - as is triad. Aveva has gone up 21% in past five days.... Not bad for a FTSE100 stock.

Software development appears to be HOT!

(Sage group also gone up in FTSE100 - also in sector "Software and computer services")

In the small cap PARTITY has gone up 50% since April.
TRIAD is still (more or less) flat since April....

Good post, Netcurtains. I would like to think I would buy more if it dips but I doubt it having watched it for a while now.

Joerog: That was my view (why I keep buying adhoc amounts) - I think under 30p (with its 3.5M cash "mountain" It seems a great bargain for recovery.
Wall Street Journal actually says its a £3.8M cash mountain

The market cap is £4.2M - so the entire company (using market cap minus cash) is valued at just £0.4M - a company that "often" makes profits of £1M.

Often CHEAP companies are valued at NAV (£5.5M) PLUS 10 times normal profits..

So you could argue that Triad should have a market cap of £15.5M or a share price of about £1.20 (on a good year).

Its not going to happen but it is a target I have in the back of my mind for very long term...

Netcurtains: I too am in again now. I have looked back at the results again, the share price, the notes about how they coped and are coping with Covid-19 and I think it looks like a good growth opp from this very low level. It just seems unloved or there was a seller as I would have expected a bit of a recovery by now based on the results. I agree about your targets

"IF" Triad makes a profit this year AND their cash pile remains about £3.5M

Then perhaps we might get 50p price? perhaps 60p? (seems fair on past form)..

If they reinstate a dividend then perhaps 80? (on past form)..

We can tell how Triad is probably doing by looking at the big players:
CGI.. (they are in all the same markets as TRiad)

You will note they crashed with the covid crisis and then, more or less, recovered every month since:

From their results (in July 2020):
"
Looking ahead, we believe market and business conditions for our end-to-end services will gradually improve throughout the rest of this year, and we see expanding opportunities for profitable growth through both build and buy."

IT working from home.
Do IT companies save a bit of money if employees working from home (eg lighting, heating, coffee, tea, etc etc etc). I wonder if Triad will soon ditch that massive HQ it has in Godalming as a bit of a waste of space.

If they have no work they are stressed..if they have too much work they are stressed...think they don't know the meaning of stress...

interesting snippet from BBC on IT workers getting stressed as too much work:

"
"Given the nature of an entire country working from home, keeping those IT systems working and functional is far greater than it was before - we have to make applications and collaboration tools work and that's where IT teams in particular have a lot of pressure placed on them," Mr Hirst says.

If getting worried about the FTSE100 and want to take it easy....

Triad is a my secret weapon - I just feel it will "blow" some where down the line - possibly September but could be October or November..... Its a months trade not a day trade but the rewards could be so much greater

chrisdgb: I suspect the guys what do that sort of thing are away on holiday (it is august).

I'm really expecting things to pick up September onwards (if it does pick up).

I think there was new blood on the board of directors recently so lets see what the new guy(s) can do (once back from holiday)

Could traders be beginning to look at FTSE Small Cap? I sense FTSE 100 might be a bit wobbly and people looking for very undervalued stocks. Cant get cheaper than TRIAD PLC.
