28/11/2004 16:58 | Maybe we will get a bigger divi this time if they have had a decent trading period. | davron8
12/11/2004 20:27 | Why doesn't mgmt pay a large spec div if they can't find a use for their cash hoard? They have had ample time to spend it. | macduck
28/10/2004 17:15 | MIGHT BUY AT 24P AGAIN | soysoy
07/10/2004 20:21 | very quiet thread. I expect the interest will pick up as we approach the end of Novemebr for the final results. For the last year I half expected a bid for Trio but we still own it. Lets hope all the Trio investments/ reorganisation in the last two years produce good results. | davron8
04/10/2004 16:57 | MIGHT BUY AGAIN AT 23.5P | soysoy
08/9/2004 19:42 | rise today | soysoy
03/9/2004 23:00 | No, this is merely what the document says - the acquisition of a substantial amount of shares. Whether the purchase might be the prelude to a take over bid by someone, is another question. | azalea
03/9/2004 20:20 | IS THIS TAKEOVER OFFER | soysoy

02/9/2004 23:05 | mr levenne bought into awscamp today aswell | soysoy
02/9/2004 19:43 | Interesting, but a bit annoying - I sold my last 84k in these today, presumably to Mr Levene allowing him to complete his trade, who seems keen to buy yet more. A few posts further up I wrote why I thought these were not such great value on current trading, but the Levene thing complicates matters. Ah well, made a good profit, hope it works out well for current holders, I'll be back at a lower price, but not chasing it up at this price. | monty burns
02/9/2004 19:36 | soysoy I have lost more money than I care to recall by waiting for a share price to fall back in just such situations. If Mr Levene is prepared to pay 27.5p for 1,15m today, then who am I to argue. What is also attractive if not surprising, is the narrow spread. Ordinarily, I am into oil and gold, but simply could not ignore this developing scenario. | azalea
02/9/2004 17:34 | welldone azalea but i want it to come down | soysoy
02/9/2004 14:33 | Things are hotting up at TRN. Mr Levene's latest upping of his stake by 1,150,000, cannot be ignored. Either he knows that trading is that much better and/or he believes that 'things' are coming to a head. For myself, I am a great believer in following the money and in keeping with that philosophy have just bought a modest 6k (emptying my piggy bank- once again). | azalea
31/8/2004 15:21 | 500k and 490k trades this morning. Both at 27.5p. Same shares? Who knows... | bigfarmer
25/8/2004 17:43 | Seems Soysoy was correct. He's been topping up, on the 9th! a while ago, and the 19th,- I guess the 350K highlighted by Bigfarmer. Sam | sammu
19/8/2004 13:00 | Couple of whoppers today 200k and 350k, both showing at 27.5p | bigfarmer
18/8/2004 11:36 | sold today only 50 quid proft it seems bounce along23 to 28p might buy again at 23p | soysoy
18/8/2004 09:19 | soysoy, If any of the directors had been topping up the buys would have been reported. For the ex-director I think his buys would also have been reported as he holds over 7%(I think this is the percentage over which buys/sells are reported) of the company. Monty, Maybe there is a big buy in the wings and the mm are try to fulfil the order? The changing interest rates both here and the states are good for TRN as they get more business/margin in a fluctuating environment. Don't know exactly why. Maybe somebody can enligten me! Hanging on for the timebeing. Finals are at the end of November. Cheers, Niels | nielsc

05/8/2004 11:41 | Something might be up here - I have been selling these down for last few weeks now as the price has risen back up - into strength and all that. And still they're staying high. Fundamentals are not quite as hunk-dory as they were, as the ongoing level of profitability looks as if it's not better than last year, possibly worse. That gives a Profit after tax of around 1.2-1.3m, compared with an enterprise value (market value less cash) of around £12m - so probably just under 10 times earnings. Not expensive, but not the bargain they appeared to be in the mid teens and with then apparent ongoing earnings of around £2.6-2.8m after tax. That's the key - what is their ongoing profitability? Several factors in the interims made me a little uneasy, such as opening an office in Switzerland, other initiatives with short terms costs - hopefully with future benfits, but no guarantees. I also have a feeling (although don't know much about the business) that they are struggling to compete with the big boys - note the litigation over employees leaving referred to a few posts above. So I'm down to 85k shares - a lot less than the 340k I was holding at one stage. And a nice profit from various prices from 14 up to 22p, offloaded at 24-26.25p. Also had some nice dividends. Could have been higher, but that's hindsight. I just think that they're not screamingly cheap any more. Without a takeover, they're a little vulnerable and might be susceptible to sliding earnings. I'll hold the rest for a while. Being the natural pessimist that I am, I am now fully expecting a takeover and therefore to miss out on some bumper gains.... Reinvested the proceeds in some banks, to do a little short term trading - TRN's customers! | monty burns
