now boys & girls with everthing being equal this little baby should be ready for a bounce. However it looks like GW Bush was at his charming best last night and these mkts look decidely dodgy. Japan down again and making a multiyear low, it doesnt matter how good this baby is, its going to get dragged down.

delboy, you're clearly misunderstanding some basic concepts. Suggest you put your working here so people can put you straight.

The book value of the shares is appx 30p which does not recognise the inherent goodwill of the company.

No it isn't. It isn't even close.

The net asset value is £11.3m with 83.4 million shares in issue or 13.5p per share. Where does the 30p come from?

The book value of the shares is appx 30p which does not recognise the inherent goodwill of the company. Taking into account the new products it has launched in the last few months plus the monstrous discount on its high tech equipment purchases, inherent goodwill can easily be another 20p, making a bid value of 50p.

Sounds like a reasonable bid price to me considering all the cash on the books.

What nonsense, I suggest you learn how to read the Trades column, as stated above it is not rocket science to insert a delayed trade.

Serious ramping about 50p and bids, pure fantasy.

Very disappointing show.

This is a good stock that should perform well, and has already done so recently, with many showing good gains and income too, so don't clutter the board up with unsubstantiated dreams....

Sorry phil but the log is generally pretty unambiguous for TRN. Where trades are delayed they are automatically put into the ? column where a quick check of the prevailing price of undelayed trades around the same time normally clearly shows its nature.

Santangello.......according to REFS, NMS is only 3000 shares so half the trades you are seeing could easily be delayed, so on a day where the price is moved around as much as it has today, picking the buys and sells can be quite difficult even though to look at it might seem obvious.

The hunch just comes from my interpretation of the logs and price action over the past week or so.....like I say its a hunch, and the logs are not always as clear as we think. Time will tell as always.

Happy to hold all mine for now though.

Delboy, what makes you think a bid of 50p is lurking, or is it just wishful thinking?

I DON'T FIND THE LOG TOO HARD TO SORT OUT, WHAT PUZZLES YOU AND WHERE DO YOU GET THE HUNCH THAT SOMEONE IS BUILDING A STAKE ??

I'm not convinced the trade log is currently reliabe for Trio. NMS is fairly low so many trades can be held back for a while and when the MM shuffle the price around like they have done for the past few days, it helps them disguise whats going on.

My take is there is someone in the background trying to buy in size.......its just a hunch though.

A buying opportunity ???

I'd be quick though.......spread is narrowing, MMs will mark these back pretty soon, trades can tell us that much.

Price down. There are more buys than sells. Up to the MM's but it shouldn't have dropped so much really. Just moving with the general market (pretty unusual for TRN)

It seems you are not up to date with what is happening at Trio.

Instead of triyng to create a conflict, with beliving something of your own imagination, you should read the balance sheet, and then you will know everything, but maybe you are too lazy, and you like to be feeded like a baby.

This seems to conflict with post 511. "

The last 2 dividends has nothing to do with the Interim dividend.

There was a special dividend of 0.25p went X-divi on 11 dec 02 paid 15 jan.03
And the Final dividend of 0.50p went X-divi on 22 jan 03 and paid on 21 feb 03

ccullinane: nah, been tied up with LGD. I predicted they'd sell off auto and aero would have a bright new future. Right again. What I didn't see is that the bright new future wouldn't involve shareholders.

I have a note that the final dividend of 0.5p will be paid on 21st February. The XDiv date was actually Wednesday 22nd January!

The dividend you got was a special dividend of 0.25p, fridays ex-div date was for the final dividend of 0.5p

Hope this clears it up.

That was the special divi you have now received of .25 per share. The final divi of .5p a share is due to holders who were still on the register as at last Friday. This will be paid eventually (can't remember the payment date but I think you will still receive the divi if you sell now) i.e. Trio have paid 3 dividends over the year. They did this a couple of years ago as well. Hope this makes sense.

Dividend

I hold Trio shares in a Comdirect account, I was informed on the 22nd Jan that a dividend of 0.25 was to be paid to holders registered on the 11th dec 02. The action date was 15th Jan 03.

This seems to conflict with post 511.

I cant imagine Trio paying an interim and final dividend so close together and I dont think Comdirect could have made such a mistake.

Hi Jitters

Well as you know I sold some of mine on the results and left some in an ISA. Bought back more on the dip and still holding. I won't mention my LGD shares though :-(
