Probably like most of the market, I am astonished at the very modest quality of the TRIN update today - the production guidance range for 2019 when considering the number of wells drilled in H2/2018 and scheduled for drilling this year is hugely disappointing(bordering on unfathomable), as it suggests a combination of an extremely high decline rate together with very modest average production from the new wells.

Moving 75% of my investment out of TRIN at an average of circa 16p last year and into mainly JSE at 35p/36p, has seen a 76% relative investment return against leaving it in TRIN. (Took the remaining 25% out in Q1/2019 - it went into mainly JSE and TXP).

After today's TRIN update, very pleased and relieved to have made the move, as I think the relative investment performance between the two will likely continue to increase well into three percentage figures during 2019.

The early bird catches the work with the rising oil price and drilling just a few months away very few were buying at 12p when you could fill your boots a couple of weeks later now 15-16-17p has come everybody wants some! If you know its coming buy early and HOLD.ON.

Looking for the share price to move up into the high 20's at least maybe even 30's on the run up to drilling

Yes, also surprised by the speed and timing however price has been a fair bit higher in Canada each day so we are playing catch-up.

I can't fathom it either spangle93. It is being walked up on no volume. We are some way off any life-changing drilling news. Irrational exuberance rearing its head again, I fear. Not complaining, mind.

What is driving this rise???

Not complaining at all, just trying to figure why it's happening with no news and no apparent change from Feb when it was reluctant to rise above 12p

Got a lot of time for Art Berman, he's been the lone voice against the hoopla of the shale oil/gas extraction industry for the best part of a decade.

Limited relevance to TXP's oilfields, but since he's an adviser to PANR, maybe worth pasting over there?

Good interview with Art Berman on shale oil.

I imagine most on here will be familiar with the arguments, but still interesting nontheless.

Agreed, unclear what's driving it but heading closer to an accurate valuation as things currently stand.

Very nice strength here the last few trading days. Can it continue? Not certain what the next news due is but something must be up!

MT yes indeed longer term holding has been good to me. I normally only keep a core holding in a handful of stock doing a little trading around the edges when the opportunity arises.

cfc - indeed - a tried and tested formulae for equity market success - but somewhat bizarrely, deeply unfashionable today among much of the investment community.
