Kaos - I agree with the other posters - yes, assumptions are made on product prices for reserves and corresponding NPV. The consultants have to state their forecasts (see foot of page 5 in RNS) but I'm sure if the contract is fixed price supply, this would over-ride general market assumptions of price.
Just one small addition - if the unit price received for gas or liquids is higher, then all things being equal, the field reserves would be higher, because the field can produce for longer before it goes cash flow negative (i.e. it's profitable at lower flow rates so more volume can be extracted) |
Assuming that they can extract it in commercial volumes.

i have a question as a gardener to the knowledgeable
calculating reserves NPV - they used a certain gas selling price i assume.
if the gas selling price changes due to the CB acqusition - reserves NPV increase drastically as only ortoire is contracted at low prices
am i right?
kind of expert spreadsheet magic
eg with one or two good exploration wells NPV could like simply double because of the CB |

And we have never been in a better situation and with cas 4 resuming in a few weeks and she'll completing in aprox 4/5 more weeks this won't be at this level for long.1 MM left with just 10,000 shares at 21.5p |
Yep - despite the descriptive fluff and putting the operational highlights first, the production reality is reflected in the material balance-based technical revisions to the 2P reserves (minus 17MMboe) and consequent NPV figures. |
