That 1.7m buy may have something to do with the rumour the company is about to announce a major acquisition......interesting!

Q3 bottom line ;
Like-for-like revenues for the 13 week period decreased by 4.7%.

Trading update this week (not last week as I previously posted). LFL decline rumoured. Not good but they have the right Senior Management team to get things back to a positive performance imho. Still going to hold for the long term. Dividends have been good to me so sticking with them.

Sp dropping a bit faster today ; the whole of the spring's share price recovery has now disappeared.

WC- If JC wins the election diy - new kitchens - bathrooms etc will become unafordable as a result of higher taxes, messed up economy, and a general increased level of fear as a result of "human rights" agenda leaving the police restricted in what they can do (imo) Topps and similar retailers supplier manufacturers are at best a hold and probably a sell - Remember in the past CGT was significantly higher and there was a 15% surcharge on investment income - Anyone sending their kids to private education and thus saving tax payers funding of their kids in state schools will instead be penalised by having VAT added on top of the fees - On top of this increased corporation tax and incresed minimum wages will leave very much less for shareholders = OK this will apply to all coys and investors BUY I am suggesting retailers in thsi area may take a heavier blow.

Sp sagged a bit here; I see next yrs forecasts are around 5% yield covered twice. Not a bargain but solid enough to support something a little higher I would have thought. Not buying any more though.

Too early to say how big holders will react, by next week that should be clearer.

The strategic plan and current year guidance range seem to be intact.
