Part of the question is why they failed. And can Topps do it better? As yet they don't list the locations, so hard to know if they are synergistic or overlapping. They say they are keeping the brand name , which is not what B&M have done with their takeover of some Wilko stores. The share price has moved slightly upwards which is promising , FWIW. |
Don't forget the new owners of CTD have sold the least profitable stores.
Good luck. |
re - into administration
Yes they were, but TPT has chosen the best stores I hope, and most likely were profitable or very close to it as well.
The market is hard but times should be improving from now on as internet rates are coming down. |
Nice acquisition, particularly like the new build market aspect. Lets bear in mind though, this business went into administration! The market is tough |
Today's move higher was due to Yesterday's Acquisition and with that a BREAKOUT in the chart and is with volume so very bullish. |
30 CTD stores bought by Topps. Interesting to see how it will be branded |
I thought Glos' CTD had closed , just moved tho apparently.DbD |
Not looking good for CTD.
Such a shame but it's tough out there.
Good luck |
Take over. Hopefully. Our old polish friends going for it. |
Its a Friday. Probably a weekend tip or made up weekend takeover rumour. |
Bit of a rise up to the bell this afternoon, somebody closing some shorts? |
As forecast |
Thread living up to its name - And (imo) will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. |
I don't think it's going to be any good |
Down down. Dimbeldi down. How much will it drop to I wonder |
Gonna be hard for them to get out of this. Unlike before. There is far too much competition. Looking at their range of tiles compared to the competition. Is far out dated. They require a complete overhaul in their strategy and their ranges. They need new buyers. There is only so much cost cutting you can do. Topps is on a downward spiral. |
Always had a reputation for treating its suppliers badly. Eventually that comes home to roost. Former Topps boss Matt Williams , son of Topps founder Stuart Williams is now running rival Tile Giant which was itself founded by ex Topps senior manager Mo Iqbal. Topps looks to be in a terminal downward spiral to me. |
CTD ok for tools , some adhesives , etc .Their tiles are pretty sucky though.imho of course.DbD :-) |
Not great results and things are about to get a lot tougher. Victorian Plumbing has designs on this market. Protiler sells mainly accessories to trade which is easily addressable for Vic. CTD Tiles and Vic also appear ahead of Topps in any online searches.
You can browse from the comfort of your house and order samples online (cheaper at Vic). |
Looking good Any news |
This is popping? L2 looks lively same yesterday. |
And downward it goes. Another one of their branches gone. I reckon 25p. A share is looming as no improvement in sales in sight. |
I worked for them a longtime, trust me they are well outdated. |
