Just a bit of info , don't know if it means anything.Had a cold call from Topps today ( I have a trade account), asking if they could do anything for me , pallets of adhesive were mentioned I think. I didn't waste his time , I'm just a subby these days so only pop in for cutting wheel or grout sponge now and then.Don't know if this a regular / normal thing , first time I've had it. DbD |
Housebuilders and building trade suppliers are out of favour. 2024 is going to be tougher than 2023. But this is a solid business gaining significant market share. Cash on the balance sheet, cash generative and excellent dividend. Patience required for a re-rating. A PE of 9 in this macro environment is about right |
TU was broadly in line. The P/E is now about 9. Maybe it is undervalued now? |
Doubt if it will make any difference to the share prices. If they've done poorly the share prices more likely to crash. But if they in profit. Share price will still dip. |
TU on Wed. |
Rumours. Is there a takeover bid for Topps Tiles ? |
It doesn't. Apologies if I inadvertently implied otherwise. It creates an overhang which depresses the share price until a resolution is found and at the moment we seem to have a stand off. I have no insight on what has caused recent positive moves |
Makinbuks, how does this push up the SP? |
Substantial rise today, on reasonable volume, cannot see any news. |
Just wanna see the shares go up to a £1. So we can all sell |
It would appear we have very frosty relations between the board and the largest shareholder. Difficult to see a way out |
What's going on guys. |
Good to have professional users views. My tiles fall off faster than I can put them on. Q3 figures here slightly up. Good to see something positive in my portfolio today. |
Good information for TPT holders from the tilers on the ground.
Good luck to you also DbD and you're bunch, Cheers |
Apologies for hijacking the thread TPT holders.DbD :-) |
Yep same here , sole trader , used to do just residential. Now just subby on the HB sites for last 12-15 yrs.Agree it going to be famine for a while , luckily the contractor I work for is a decent bloke. Basically spreads the work around , which is looking like 2-3 days a week for our bunch.Fine for me tbh as I'm at the latter stages of career :-)Not going to say which HB, but was told this week sales are down >70% currently.Hold on to your hard hat.Oh and most of the lads like the yellow bag rapid as it sets quick , but the colorstuk grout sucks tbh ?GL in the forth coming slowdown.DbD :-) |
To confirm I was saying Porcelanos home brand adhesive - Butech was decent. Not TTs.
-++++ DbD, jobs are becoming thin on the ground. Im a sole trader but was working for a company that had a mix of Persimmon sites and domestics. Persimmon have cut thier target for 80 new builds per site in half and domestics are becoming harder to get as more guys are wanting them.
The building trades have always been ' feast or Famine' and so I just have to bear it and wait for the upturn.
Good luck. |
Agree on the CTD comment, some shocking tiles there.Villeroy Boch , used to good 35yrs ago , now made in Turkey I think , sizey , out of square , break if sneeze on them !!Was using some of there rectified edge 60*30 few mths ago , forget the brand now , jeepers , edges chipped as soon as you looked at them!!DbD :-) |
Is there own brand BAL?How's things tiling wise?Hope ur not getting too many metro brickbond jobs :-)DbD |
The only way these shares are going is south. |
Their range is well out dated. Their adhesive and grouts well overpriced |
Thier decent. Own brand adhesive & grout not bad either.
Also - Tiler :-) |
IMHO of course DbD :-) |
Porcelanosa far better quality tiles.DbD - Tiler :-) |
I agree about thier prices and how the price of a length of black box trim can rise in price from c£15 to £20 per length when they know they are the only supplier and you need it. Detest that brand.
But they do have a great range of tiles not matched by CTD and the rest.
IMHO |
