The more I read the more exciting this becomes. The main point here is that this year is transformational the general financial and public community do not realise what is happening in the internet world. I have spoken to about six investing clients about TLDH and NONE of them were really interested. This actually says a lot it means that there is a lot of information and news to hit the media which is going to shake up the general dis-interest which I think exists. I have decided to increase my holding by reducing investment holdings elsewhere because the upside here seems to me to be huge.

London's own domain name launches in AprilShare131By Matthew Sparkes11:20AM GMT 14 Feb 2014London will become one of the first cities in the world to have its own domain name from April 29, when applications for .london open to the public – but it will be a further three months before anyone finds out if they have been successful in staking a claimLondon will become one of the first cities in the world to have its own domain name on April 29 when .london opens to the public – but it will be a further three months before applicants find out if they succeeded in staking a claim.Once applications open there will be a three month wait for the first names to be issued. At the end of this period those which were only requested by one person or company will be simply handed out, and any disputes will be settled according to a hierarchy of priorities.RELATED ARTICLESCapital businesses to get .london domain next springLondon to get its own web addressFirst in line to any claim will be those who already have a trademark on the name, giving companies a chance to bag appropriate domains. Then come Londoners with pre-existing domains under different suffixes (telegraph.co.uk applying for telegraph.london would qualify here, for example). If there are several competitors for a name and none have a strong case for priority then it will go under auction to the highest bidder.Because of this lengthy process it will be at least July before those applying for a domain can launch their site. However, it is hoped that there will be a "pioneer program" to hand out domains immediately after launch to 100 high-profile businesses, including Selfridges, thanks to a special exemption applied for from the California non-profit organisation that controls the creation and allocation of domain names, ICANN. If granted, this will skip the three-month application process and the two-month wait normally imposed by ICANN on new domain launches.London & Partners, the Mayor's official promotional organisation for London, successfully applied to ICANN in 2012 to set up and manage the new .london domain and only got approval in November 2013.The group has now set up Dot London Domains Ltd to operate the new registry on a commercial basis and announced an April launch date this morning. So far there have been no decisions made on pricing of .london domain names, as Dot London will act as a wholesaler and buyers will ultimately make purchases through existing registrars after they add a mark-up. Dot London warns anyone who has already been approached with an early offer and a request for payment to "treat it with caution".London has been beaten to the honour of being the first city with its own domain name by Berlin (.berlin) and Vienna (.wein) but will launch ahead of New York's .nyc. And the early signs are that the names will be in demand.Martha Lane Fox, co-founder lastminute.com and former government digital champion, backs the new domain: "The new generic domain names are a big change to the web. .london offers businesses and organisations in the capital a chance to be at the cutting edge of that change and show the world how innovative they can be."The Meantime breweryA YouGov survey of over 1,000 small businesses in London also showed that one in four were likely to make an application. If extrapolated, this would suggest 200,000 sales from industry alone.Half of those expressing an interest (48 per cent) said that they would do so because they are proud to be a London business, 41 per cent said a .london web address would help customers find them more easily and 27 per cent said it would help generate more sales. Some businesses have already expressed an interest in buying a .london domain. Nick Miller, chief executive of Meantime Brewing Company, said: "Meantime is a company with its roots firmly planted in the fabric of London. Innovation and creativity is at the heart of everything we do. As London prepares to embark on an exciting new chapter in the digital evolution of business in the city, we are excited to support and celebrate the introduction of .london."David Pegler, chief executive of ExCeL London, said: "London is one of the world's leading destinations for event organisers. Last year we welcomed over 3.6 million visitors to ExCeL London, of which 900,000 were international business tourists. That activity generated £2.9 billion of economic impact and supported 31,000 jobs. A .london internet address will magnify our global reach and support us in bringing world class events to London from the rest of the UK and abroad."

Yes, my mind was running a little there ft. hehehehe.
Tech, it will surely get taken over at some point. It's now my second biggest holding after Burcon Nutrascience in Canada.
A breakoput above 15 could lead to see rapid gains.

Yes, those figures indicate that the return for M & M's would be substantial from .london to say the least. It makes you wonder how lucrative .miami, .nrw etc would be too.
Onwards and upwards.

Top Level Domain Holdings Limited

.LONDON update

The Directors of Top Level Domain Holdings Limited (AIM:TLDH.L) are delighted to announce that its client, Dot London Domains Ltd ("Dot London"), has today announced that .LONDON will begin taking registrations on 29 April 2014 marking the formal launch of the .LONDON domain.

Separately, based on YouGov research commissioned by London & Partners, the Mayor's official promotional organisation for London, Dot London projects that over a quarter of London's 840,000 small businesses are likely to apply for an address in the .LONDON domain.*

Leading brands and international organisations have also already expressed their desire to secure .LONDON addresses according to the Dot London announcement.

As part of the launch programme, London based businesses and Londoners will be given an initial three-month priority period in which to pre-register domain names. During the same period, trademark holders registered in ICANN's Trademark Clearinghouse, will also be able to submit a claim for their associated address(es) for their trademark.

London will be one of the first cities in the world to introduce its own top level domain. A copy of the Dot London's full announcement can be viewed at

M+M sees 200,000 .london names in its future

Kevin Murphy, February 14, 2014, 11:36:59 (UTC), Domain Registries
Minds + Machines CEO Antony Van Couvering reckons the company's forthcoming .london new gTLD could see as many as 200,000 domains under management, just from small businesses.

He told DI the target is realistic following the results of a YouGov survey of 1,001 London-based small businesses, which found that 26% were "likely" to buy a .london name.

From this, YouGov extrapolated that there are at least 218,140 companies ready to register a .london.

Van Couvering would not put a deadline on hitting the ambitious goal, but said that registry Dot London Domains and M+M as technical provider are "going to do our best to make the launch well-publicized and successful."

Judging by the gTLD's official web site, which carries quotes from the likes of Selfridges, the London Eye and Carnaby Street, there's been a fair bit of outreach to recognizable London brands already.

Dot London backer London & Partners is the Mayor's office's official PR agency, so you can imagine there's going to be some decent marketing resources thrown at marketing.

The .london gTLD is due to launch April 29 this year, according to the registry.

It's been contracted with ICANN since November 14, so is running well over the average time to delegation of 70 days.
