We don't need anywhere near those penetration rates / figures to earn impressive revenues from the Domain. For me, the salient point is more to do with the crossover for .Wedding into private use as opposed to solely commercial uptake.

Rather than sarky comments, is this the general feeling in here that we will have a billion customers in the future and 20% of people getting married in the US will purchase a .wedding domain name? If so the unrealistic predictions on this board just hit a new high.

I did pass comment on Z's purchase. Everyone focusing on current income, but with 450m customers(me and all my family included)who will pay £1 each after a year, 55 employees, probable profits of £450m, PE is a tiny 25.
When that becomes 1 billion customers paying in 3 years, its a low PE. Thats the fit.
What will we go for??? And probably before the end of 2015.
Forget multiples of current share price, it will be well beyond 10 times.(2000%)

Treble, that example as you quite rightly pointed out, was just for N America. The global market is worth well over $300 billion with a widespread comprehension & acceptance of the western use of the word 'wedding' as well as particular characteristics related to it ie less cultural restrictiveness and more expansive in accepting the whole western 'white wedding' concept. Also the Personal uptake of domains for specific events as well as the expected industry demand.

If anyone had applied for .weddings, ICCAN would probably only have allowed one of them. My understanding of the process.

Working on a 20% annual take up, in the US alone that is 480000.
At $15 a pop to us, that is $7.2m per annum.
Overheads say $100k.
PE say 20, that is a market value of $140m.
Blue sky thinking -yes.
Possible, definately and all from a couple of mill, and of course our back end systems and management.
$billion dollar take out, looking more likely.

House BrokerMorning Comment, CP 16.63p, Market Cap £137m 25 February 2014 Secured .WEDDING in Private Auction; Transition to Operating Company On its Way Event TLDH announced that following the private auctions held last week for .WEDDING and .GREEN, the group has secured the uncontested application rights for .WEDDING. The net cost to the company for securing the sole application for .WEDDING was approximately US$2.23m (c.£1.39m) once the proceeds of the .GREEN private auction are taken into account. The above figure includes the rebate that the group will receive from ICANN for withdrawing its application for .GREEN and commissions payable to the auctioneer. TLDH now has a portfolio of 26 uncontested applications in which it has a commercial interest. Separately and further to the comment on 31st January 2014, the company reported that the documentation associated to the change of name and change of status from an investment company to an operating company is at an advanced stage of preparation and the Board anticipates the Circular and Notice of General Meeting in relation to the above will be posted to shareholders in early March. Impact on Earnings & Valuation We currently have no published forecasts for TLDH. We view the result of the private auction positively as we see very strong potential in the .WEDDING top level domain. We believe this will make for a strong addition to the group's portfolio.
