05/5/2019 11:14 | Bad times indeed for BT and TalkTalk. BT looking to cut dividend and TalkTalk looking to borrow £600million and fundraise £400million. Bad news for BT and TalkTalk shareholders. Better buy Toople. | 2mex
05/5/2019 10:31 | 78steve...thanks. what is apparent from that list is the competitive nature of the market. And recent bad press especially for talk talk and lesser so b.t augers well for toople as it goes for market share. The always busy posts about toople this week are reflected in this weeks negative posts about talk talk and B.t who look to be losing market share. | bobdown2
05/5/2019 10:01 | Toople is on uSwitch business broadband search appears in second position. When you look at toople market cap and the likes of talktalk, plusnet and BT etc you know where this is heading ;) dyor | 78steve
05/5/2019 09:47 | Whats going to happen in the next 10 yrs or so, at the moment we have broadband or fibre, but in the future 5g will happen and what is happening now is that 5g is slowly being put in place but this costs money and the major players have to pay out millions so they are putting up prices to cover this and what they should do is cut the dividends and thats the fight going on at BT at the moment. Saying all this people are moving over to fibre which will become redundant in yrs to come as 5g takes over, those staying on copper will benefit as it will become faster as there will be less people using it and this will be like this for some yrs, most people do not need 5g but the migration when it happens will be slow as it will be expensive at first and then become cheaper. This is a few yrs away. | chestnuts
05/5/2019 09:27 | Bob (post 1649), good spot and great news for Toople. "..From the launch of Toople, all the Company's propositions have been built on next generation technology and have been future proofed to take advantage of the BT migration and to ensure that Toople is well placed.." Andy Hollingworth, 23 Aug 2018 | 2mex
05/5/2019 09:20 | Talk talk is putting it's prices up for customers that go out of contract. Talk talk got panned this week as the worst broadband provider. Maybe those who are running a small business from home will now get more professional and use toople. | bobdown2
05/5/2019 08:11 | Lots about B.t and broadband etc on the front pages of the times and telegraph business sections. Will b.t cut their dividend to quicken up the replacement of copper in cities after sorting out rural areas. There are other companies mentioned...and other aspects. Like...b.t are going to give improved service to its broadband customers....I find this very difficult to believe with the massive job losses being implemented. But anything that speeds up the replacement of copper to broadband can only be good for toople. | bobdown2
05/5/2019 07:59 | Yes, I saw somewhere else that the SME market was around 5 million so 50k would be 1% and 25k 0.5%. It's all about cost of sales now and if and when profitability can be achieved. | homebrewruss
05/5/2019 07:48 | 1% would be about 40k to 50k customers . I think we can do that by Autumn 2020 on our current growth rate. End of this year should see 20k customers by my estimate and that does not include any new major contracts we could land. | jungmana
04/5/2019 21:39 | Thanks Jungmana, just trying to get a feel for how long it would take for TOOP to get to 1% etc | homebrewruss
04/5/2019 21:37 | About correct. Kcom have between approximately 200k to 250k customers | jungmana
04/5/2019 21:30 | Lots of ramping going on by the crew. | david233
04/5/2019 20:03 | So does 200,000 users equate to approx 5% of the SME market then? Is that what kcom have? | homebrewruss
04/5/2019 19:45 | Virgin Media were looking at buying Kcom back in Feb so they could make a rival bid:hTTps://www.tele | parob
04/5/2019 19:32 | The GBP 504m bid for kcom may not end there. There could be a rival bid to scupper this one.Shows where TOOP is heading in 3/4 years time | jungmana
04/5/2019 19:13 | Let TOOP get back above the 9p they were a few years ago just after floatation before we start thinking about takeovers. Original shareholders will want at least 2x the 9p, so 18p or more. However, if TOOP's target is to get at least 5% of the SME market, then a takeover would be at least £504m like KCOM - but it could also be £714m, i.e. 5%/7% x £1000m of Daisy's valuation, who have 7% of the market. That for me gives a TOOP takeover price based on 5%, of £504m to £714m. | city chappy |
