This is the end for Tomco , sell what ever shares you have because they'll be even more worthless than they already

The non-execs will have to earn their keep now. On a historic run rate TOM will have now burnt all but one week of cash and last week's tragedy is hardly going to help emergency fund raising/funding.

Receiving considerable sums of money over many years, when nothing is achieved is not good for anyone’s wellbeing.
A very sad tale indeed - the Board should ask themselves why they allowed this misadventure and its debilitating effect on all those who they talked into parting with hard earned money.

Agreed 1d.

From some of the tributes on other threads it is clear that a number of posters were in communication with the CEO. That is probably not the best way to run a quoted plc and might skew understandings of the commercial position of the company.

Any untimely death is tragic, the more so because John had young family. I would hope that, irrespective of the thread, we all feel sympathy.

What a shock. Such a shame, just as ALL of John’s hard work was coming to fruition. Devastating news for everyone involved in TOMCO particularly his family. We all had a pop at him in the early years, but he won me round, and I only spoke to him last week, which was encouraging news on th finance. He will be missed by all that knew him. RIP a great man"

I wondered how soon it would be before someone came out with that sort of claim , since he is not around to defend any possible implications of insider knowledge.
Not that I believe it - its just deplorable that someone would take the opportunity to create a ramp rumour on the back of this news.
As for "coming to fruition" well we have seen the just "one more month's extension required " play out for years now.
So long that they don't even bother to refer to the long lapsed option agreement time scale.. no basis for believing anything is on the horizon...

Time now for remaining directors to bring this misadventure to a full stop - let TOM rest for ever!

Superbly put Damac and Fishyneck.

Sincere condolences to John's family and friends.

The Directors and colleagues will be working to close out the funding arrangement, which I'm sure will be remembered as a legacy to John's years of work and dedication.

With respect to him being a nice man , it was not reflected with any success for TOM.
His "vision" has cost TOM a fortune and achieved nothing.
His salary now passes to the remaining directors ?
Lack of cash does not go away we shall see how soon there is another RNS.

I can only echo the sentiments of Fishyneck above.

John was a decent, well respected human being taken far too soon. It is a heartbreaking loss for his family. He put his heart & soul into striving for the success of Tomco. I know the remaining Directors and Steve Byle at Valkor will be doing all they can to complete John’s vision for the company as a lasting legacy.

Sleep well John, it was a pleasure to have known you.

I was very saddened to hear this as the news broke over the weekend. John was great company to be in and, as the RNS says leaves behind a young family - my thoughts go out to them. RIP John. You will be missed.I hope these boards afford him and his family the respect and dignity he deserves.
