07/6/2020 10:55 | Gas flow rates determine how much electricity can be generated on any given date - the basis of every PPA in the CBM arena. How can anyone disagree with that? The alternative only has one parallel transaction imho - those engagements which go on forever because one party never intends to actually marry? Supplying Botswana with our initial power production seems to be TLOU's intention. That is both gentlemanly and sensible imho. We have seen power is being rationed in that domestic market, and the unit price has risen recently because BPC are struggling. BPC will benefit from our low price of $0.12 per kilowatt compared to around $0.30 , maybe , for imported power. Golden Goose (GG) comes to mind? There is a huge incentive for BPC to have TLOU operational - profitability mainly, but it would improve their social standing if domiciles can see a potential end to rationing of power? Now BPC is looking beyond repair, I suspect we'll soon find out who these other financiers are. I'm sure there are several e.g. in the US, China and South africa who'd like part of the action at a higher percentage than BDC might be happy with. I am hoping Mr Moagi is going to lead the cavalry charge with BERA to produce an agreement of some sort to get us up and running. Imho TLOU have not closed the door on any potential outcomes including nothing for 6 months. | nugacity
07/6/2020 10:34 | Post on 1st June "taking extended break" followed by posts on both 3rd and the 6th; if that's your idea of "extended" ???? | ginko3
06/6/2020 13:41 | If funding doesn’t come from BDC then I’m sorry to say but GG will be asked to turn off the lights. It really is as simple as that!! | donkey40
03/6/2020 23:37 | Another parting gift - except most are too narrow-minded to appreciate the reality of Bots for so many years. The words are spoken by one of the most senior legal people living in Bots: “President Mokgweetsi Masisi is my President and Head of State and I relate with him the way every citizen should: he assumed the Presidency following the worst 10 years our country had known since Independence, has a monumental burden to discharge in restoring and advancing our considerably eroded and downgraded democracy, governance and economy, and he deserves our every support in the doing of this. This support is and must, of necessity, be critical in its approach. He probably finds that I am amongst his most ardent critics, the difference being that I do not grandstand about it. I communicate directly with him, commending the government when it has done well, offering encouragement, but also mercilessly criticizing him and his government when, as often happens, I think they are failing us. I do not climb trees to do so; I communicate with him as the audience of one is to whom my critical analysis is directed. I want him and his Gov’t to succeed in serving Batswana as they wish to be served, for that is why he and his Gov’t were elected. Our relationship is a one of the mutual respect that must exist between two leaders on opposite sides of the aisle.” | donkey40
01/6/2020 20:32 | Parting gift: Any you stupid donkeys wonder why Tlou cannot make progress..... | donkey40
01/6/2020 18:41 | Having read LSE posts today, I am taking an extended break from posting on Tlou. My followers will be surprised; my detractors will be ecstatic. My parting post - PPA and funding are miles away still. Solar is a bull S distraction. I have nothing to add here other than I am fed up telling everyone “I told you so ever since 2017.” Share price has no reason to go anywhere until management report meaningful progress. I Can’t hold my breath that long. I will keep reading and continue being astounded and amused by the naivety and stupidity of some, and intelligence of a small few. No point sacking the board Whizz - nobody else is stupid enough to take it on. Good hunting and good luck. | donkey40
01/6/2020 09:38 | Donk, you seem to ignore the fact that Botswana's coal fired power is a near disaster and that CBM was offered to Kalahari in 2012 and they are still waiting for a glimmer of hope from them! And now they have TLOU who have had CBM power for 3 or 4 years for their own use, trillions of cu ft of gas, and an undoubted ability to deliver once dewatering completes! We are all aware that CBM gas fields CAN take several years to dewater first time round but subsequently extra wells are much quicker - the initial problem! The offer of an interim PPA has side-lined that one, and now we have covid related problems! We are only talking $10M to get 2Mw up and running at the last estimate. It is peanuts to Botswana, and BDC just need the PPA to be signed. The future for BDC looks much brighter than before, at least , regarding electricity. Lockdown permitting, it won't surprise me if a solar PPA is not offered shortly to TLOU. 20Mw whilst waiting for 10Mw of CBM makes sense and TG seems happy to provide BOTH, history in the making! It will make it possible for TLOU to shutdown CBM during the day for maintenance/expansio It must be soul destroying for TG to be on the verge of making history and to have so many unavoidable hiccoughs in his way - all 2 of them! Unexpected water levels at Lesedi than they found at Selemo, and Covid! But looking on the bright side - more dewatering usually leads to higher gas flows! | nugacity
31/5/2020 09:08 | Colm's podcast Nov 27th , only a month before Wuhan news of Covid19 broke, less the Xmas and New Year break , so not very many days for his words to be enacted, strongly suggested that $10M was on the table, requiring those 2 words, "final answer". And if we wanted to go for 10Mw (rather than 2Mw) then $30M might be as well. Colm , whose disposition was so upbeat (happy), made me believe either offer was/is agreeable to BDC as soon as the outstanding PPA items (what were they?) were finalised. I kid myself the choice of $10M or $30M plus the dates were a bit part of the outstanding list. And that is still where we are now due to the intervening lockdown? Lockdown will hopefully ease enough to allow TLOU to pick up the reins again. i.e. decide upon funding for 2Mw or 10Mw PPA and , my old chestnut , WHEN do we target delivery of the same? The critical date for 2Mw will, imho, be date of connection to Serowe! But for 10Mw , it will be a race between 10Mw power production and that connection? A big decision for TG and co, knowing so many shareholders don't back their decisions. I do! | cherrylady
28/5/2020 15:27 | London was at the epicenter we he left for Durham. It was only his child that he was concerned with not him and his wife. If you think he was only thinking about himself then your a leftwing labour bolshi. | liartidd
27/5/2020 11:38 | . . . or to put it more politely; please could you keep political statements and thought off this board as it is for the discussion of all matters related to TLOU only; there are other boards on which you may make your politics known. | ginko3
27/5/2020 11:15 | Brad - this board is for Tlou. Shut it ! | donkey40
27/5/2020 09:47 | He done it to protect his child? Who incidentally got sick because he was stuck in a car for 5 hours in Corona virus atmosphere. | liartidd
25/5/2020 15:08 | As an old friend of mine on LSE (sadly no longer around) liked to post - DYOR. | donkey40 |
